Finished in Bright Red over red leather, only slightly less than 7000 of these were made in five years of production, with only 1565 red examples in 1990. These cars were wider than the base corvette, wore huge 315/35-17 rubber in the back that was specifically made for this car, and would rival and exceed the performance of supercars costing twice or more what this did - although the base Corvette sold for $32K, and the ZR-1 option added a whopping $27K to the window sticker! This car is in immaculate condition inside and out, and the all aluminum 375HP LT5 V8 under the hood runs perfectly, delivering terrific power. The engine in this car was designed by Lotus, and hand built by Mercury Marine (chosen for their abilities in fine aluminum work.) The shifter is smooth and precise, and the brakes, clutch, and tires are in great shape.
