Description:

1966 Chevrolet Corvette L79 Coupe

This car came from Seattle. In the mid-80's a 350 crate engine was installed and the car was painted this color silver (was Ermine White.) I have had the car for almost 4 years and have proceeded to repair/replace almost everything.
It is an L79 high performance model. This can be verified by the engine code and the redline on the tachometer. The story goes that the original engine was tired and the local engine shop made the owner a deal on a built 350, installed cheaper than rebuilding the L79. The original numbers matching engine comes with the car but is not installed. The 350 is a solid performer, with no worries about beating on it. Being a high performance version, it also has the original M21 close ratio transmission installed.
The most common problems with these C2s have been addressed on this one: - fiberglass cracking around the windshield/fenders and around the lower turn signals has been professionally fixed (front end repainted and black added to stinger) - rubber bushings dry out, crack, and disintegrate. Biggest issue is with the rear trailing arms which have spacers that must be installed propperly. This is complete front and rear. - dash pads crack. The dash pads are new, dash freshened, gauges polished with needles brightened, new wiring harness, bulbs, clock mechanism, and carpet.
Upgrades include:- teak steering wheel- air conditioning (vintage air GenIV)- aluminum radiator (Dewitts) with electric fans- 100 Amp alternator- new dual circuit power brake master cylinder- new stainless brake lines- new suspension bushings front and back- new shocks all around- 2.5" dual exhaust- new transverse rear leaf spring with original ride height- new LED turn signals, reverse and brake lights for super bright visibility without melting the lenses- new brake calipers with square cut seals- new dash pads- new carpet- new restoration radio and power antenna- new interior harness and all bulbs- 3-point seatbelts- rebuilt posi differential- double nickel rechrome and straightening of original bumpers- windshield replaced and birdcage cleaned up and sealed
$61k invested, receipts come with the car
350 installed currently for just having fun with no worries.
Odometer did not work when I bought it. It was missing a tooth and would not turn. Scott's speedo shop rebuilt it for me and set it to zero. Today it is showing roughly 8,000 miles.
