1966 Corvette Coupe 427-425HP Beautiful Unrestored Corvette W/Protecto-Plate!!
1966 Chevrolet Corvette Highly OPTIONED
Hi, I have been getting a ton of interest in this car, with a few offers, IF you are looking to buy a true BIG BLOCK Corvette and WANT TO PAY A small block Corvette PRICE, YOU NEED to LOOK somewhere else! FOR SALE: 1966 Corvette Coupe,427-425hp, 4 speed, Unrestored Never been Wrecked SURVIVOR Type One family owners since new with the Factory Protecto-Plate!. Has not seen rain in over 45 years! Car completely RUST FREE, no rust ever! This is a higher optioned Corvette for that year. Sold new at LYMAN SLACK Chevrolet in Portland Oregon, Beautiful well kept Corvette, this is very nice car and in my opinion it does NOT really need to be restored just needs a minor cleaning/detailing in a few areas!, I never thought that I would sell, but due to unforseen health issues (Stage 4 Cancer), I am in a place that I need to sell to help pay for some of the medical bills. Not Desperate to sell but it would help. I bought this from the Cousin of the original buyer. The story on this 1966 Corvette is Factory 427-425hp (N.O.M.) Now a 1969 Impala 427 Motor (390hp) with 425hp cam (sound great!), if you remember the first gas crisis in 1973, the original owner liked driving the Corvette but not the gas mileage. He also owned a 1966/67 Chevelle "Show Car" with a small block in it that he rarely drove. He proceeded to swap the two motors figuring some day he would switch them back. In 1969 he sold the Corvette to his Cousin, (the person I bought it from). A few years later the original owner DIES and the wife sells the Chevelle with the Corvette Motor still inside, without telling the cousin. (I have been trying to track down the Chevelle but with NO LUCK so far. ODO shows 55,958 may (believed to be close to original) or may not be original miles, the person I bought the car from said the ODO stop working shortly before I bought the car (a very common C2 issue). I have only driven the car about 150 miles in the 3 years I have owned it. Anyway the Cousin found and installed the 427-390hp Impala motor that's in the Corvette now. I have since found a "correct numbers/dates correct 1966 427-425hp RESTORATION Motor" that goes with this car (correct for the car but not the engine the car was BORN with..This is a higher OPTIONED Old Corvette: 427-425hp L72 Corvette 1 of 5.258 ever built, 1966 Corvette Coupe 1 of 9958, Option #P48 Factory Alloy Knock-off Wheels (now aftermarket Bolt-ons), Option #TO1 Gold Stripe tires (now radial Gold Stripe Tires), Code #984 Yellow Paint 1 of 2339 (paint looks great with just a few rock chips), Code #AO1 Tinted Glass, Code # U69 AM-FM Radio, Code # N14 Factory Side Exhaust, Code #N32 Teak Wood Steering Wheel, Code #K66 TI Trans. Ignition, G81 Factory 4::11 Big Block Rear End. The story on the Factory K/O wheels was, original owner was driving the Corvette and got asked if he would be willing to sell (trade plus cash) his factory alloysfor a set of factory 1966 corvette Steel wheel and Factory Hubcaps plus Cash! Being short of cash at the time he did it. The Cousin who I bought the Corvette from bought and installed the aftermarket "Bolt On" (Safer) Alloys and yellow striped Gold line Coker Radial tires. Car Has a AM-FM Aftermarket Radio (fits factory radio hole). Everything else appears to be stock original, carpets are great, Seat covers are great, door panels are great, Has had one repaint in the late 70s early 80s in its original color, a quality paint job that STILL LOOKS GREAT! (car had been keyed) just a all around GREAT 1966 Corvette! Headlights roll up and down fine, left side is a little slower going up than the right side. Fairly equal going down. If you are looking for the once in a lifetime SWEETHEART of a OLD Corvette, THIS IS IT!
