DIALED-IN 'VERT, BIG BLOCK 406 V8, 4-SPEED, PWR FRNT DISC/STEER/TOP, GOOD DOCS!!
1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS
This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS convertible combines an awesome color scheme (basic black never goes out of style) and a highly-polished appeal that makes it a strong contender for the ultimate summer cruiser. Small block V8 power and timeless good looks are part of the package, too, so we'll throw them in for free.
Interestingly, the cowl tag says this one was originally code F Marina Blue, but when it was restored a few years ago, every square inch of visible sheetmetal was covered in beautiful black single-stage urethane for an authentic look. Feel free to come into the showroom and look closely, even in the door jambs, trunk, and engine compartment, and you'll discover a very nicely finished F-body. Of course, this car looks like someone spent a lot of time on it, with good gaps and panel alignment and evidence that the entire car was thoroughly block sanded before being sent to the paint booth. It shows a few signs of use, but who can resist the allure of a Camaro convertible on a sunny day, especially one that turns heads like this? It's also nice to see familiar Camaro performance cues like the cowl induction hood, chin spoiler, ducktail spoiler and a blacked-out grille that gives it a somewhat sinister look. And yes, this is a real RS and we have the invoice to prove it. Chrome bumpers, bright fender trim, and polished stainless on the windshield surround all add some glitter to this otherwise serious F-body.
The code 765-Z black bucket seat interior matches the fender tag and looks fantastic against the shiny black paint. Recent seat covers with correct-looking pleated seating surfaces look great, along with fresh door panels and new black carpets that tie it together quite nicely. The console is highlighted with a Hurst shifter, complete with cue ball knob, as well as a pair of auxiliary gauges neatly installed just above it. Factory gauges are in those deep-set pods and cover speed and fuel level. Experts will note the correct RS steering wheel and horn button and a modern AM/FM/cassette stereo radio was slipped into the dash and looks quite correct. A white power convertible top with crystal clear rear folds neatly and doesn't have any problems closing up. Out back, the trunk is finished with a correct mat that fits surprisingly well.
Pop the hood and you'll find a potent 406 cubic inch small block, which packs big block power and torque without the weight. Not intended to look stock, it has Edelbrock finned valve covers and an open-element air cleaner, as well as a full roller valvetrain, Bowtie intake manifold, Edelbrock carburetor, and full MSD ignition system. Everything was new when the car was restored and the late-model serpentine belt system improves reliability. Long tube headers feed a rumbling dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, and you'll note that the floors are unfinished but in fine condition thanks to a lifetime in Georgia and they're reinforced with a set of subframe connectors. The transmission is a 4-speed manual spinning a 10-bolt rear, so it's a blast to drive and the components are virtually bulletproof. Classic Rally wheels with sinner center caps and staggered 215/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear Uniroyal radials fill the wheel wells with an aggressive look.
With the dealer invoice and Protect-O-Plate to back it up, this is a gorgeous RS Camaro convertible with lots of performance and a very clean, sophisticated look. What are you waiting for, call today!
