1954 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Rat Rod

1954 Chevrolet Bel Air Rat Rod. The 1954 Chevy body has been channeled and fit down over a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis chassis. The car has the 8.8 Ford rearend with the Mercury power disc brakes all the way around. The body and paint isn't perfect, but if it was it wouldn't be a rat rod. The bottom half is flat black with patina flames and logo, and the top half is the original rust. The interior floor pan has been raised 4" and the interior trunk shortened to accommodate the Mercury chassis and fuel tank. It has a custom filler neck on the drivers side also. The firewall has been notched out to fit the headers and the hood is pinned on with big wing nuts. It has a custom grill with a 1966 chevelle front bumper and 1961 Biscayne front filler panel. It has a brand new electric wiper motor and wipers, new shocks all the way around, new tires with less than 200 miles on them, new battery, new alternator, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new air cleaner filter, new electric radiator fans, and new gauges. The glass is all good although the windshield has a couple nicks from what appears the be a bb gun. The windows all roll up and down, wing glass opens and shuts properly, and the doors open and shut good. It has accent lighting in the interior and the back seat is out of the 1997 Mercury, while the front seats are out of a late 1970's Oldsmobile Cutlass. The drivers power seat works great. It has a new B&M ratchet shifter, stainless steel tilt steering column, with nice steering wheel, 1965 Mustang rear view mirror, 1997 Mercury brake booster and master cylinder. It has a radiator out of a 1970 Chevy pickup and Sprint Car headers. The engine is a 355ci Small Block Chevy with flat top pistons, RV cam, gear drive, double hump heads, Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, with brand new 600cfm Edelbrock Carb., new mini starter, chrome valve covers, and power steering. Engine has new oil pump, oil filter, seals, and gaskets. The transmission is a Turbo 400 with the stock torque converter, new front and rear seals, new filter, and new pan gasket. It has a clear title and all of the headlights, tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals all work good. The car is very fun to drive, has plenty of power, and is a real attention getter.
