1987 Chevrolet C-10 Silverado

No Reserve auction. The starting price of $6,500 is less than what I have invested in the truck.

Up for auction is a1987 Chevrolet Silverado SWB 4 wheel drive pick-up.1987 wasthe last year of the much sought after square body Chevy pick-ups. 1987 was the only year the square body pick-ups came with an optional 350 engine with throttle body injection and a 4 speed automatic transmission. This truck has the original 350 engine, 4 speed automatic transmission and 4 wheel drive. I've had the truck for several months and done a lot of mechanical work to it.It is now ready for paint and interior. I bought the truck as a driving project. It ran good when I bought it but it did have some issues. I have had the engine checked over and had the valves adjusted and the valve seats replaced.I replaced the starter and battery.The engine does not smoke, leak or make any funny noises. The transmission shifts just as it should. The 4wd works as it should. A new exhaust system has been installed. I sent the truck out to a shop to have several gremlins removed from the electrical system. Now the lights, horn, switches and gauges work as they should. It has a working Kenwood stereo in it.The air conditioner system compressor has been replaced and the system has been flushed and charged. The spare tire carrier was missing when I got the truck. I bought a new carrier with all the braces and mounting bolts that has not been installed but does go with the truck. The original jack is still under the hood. The radiator has been re-mounted with new brackets. I replaced the front wind shield.

I have a clear Texas title in my name.

Now for the minor things it still needs. The power windows work fine but the power locks do not work. The cruise control does not work. The bright light indicator does not work at times. The seats are torn and need to be re-done. The dash pad is cracked and needs to be replaced.It still has the original paint. The body is in good shape for a 30 year old truck but does a small dent on the passenger side front fender and some small surfacerust spots. The truck has 2 gas tanks but the selection switch does not work. The switch was missing when I got the truck. After I purchased a new switch, I couldn't find the wiring plug under the dash and that's all I have done on it. It's running off the driver's side tank right now.Thetruck has the original paint, bucket seats from a Blazer, 2 sun roofs addedand a Unicorn painted on the hood. It's stillthere.

The bottom line is that this is a good running 87 Square Body with 4 wheel drive. Almost all the mechanical things has been done and it needs paint and interior to be a really nice high dollartruck. I've driven it around 500 miles since I got it and it drives great. For 50 cents a mile I will drive it to an airport nearyour location. Then I'll fly home.
