Price: - Item location: Saint Paul, Nebraska, United States
Description:

1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

You are bidding on a project I bought 13 years ago, began work to restore as a driver, never got finished, and now am selling to make room for my other projects. I recently sold my shop building and need the room.
The car was running/driving when I bought it but had several coats of burgundy and red paint. I owned a car business until 2 years ago and we sold and restored classics. My intention was always to do a light restoration and to keep it for myself but I now have way too many cars to store and keep without my shop.
Paint needs finished: Our shop began the restoration, we got as far as stripping, cleaning up the body, primer, a few coats of red paint and some parts cleared before our guy left for another job. So someone will need to re-coat the paint including the cleared parts (doors, hood, top) so everything will match due to time passing. The good news is that the body is in pretty good shape and I don't see any cracks....just needs someone to finish it.
Comes with 2 engines: I bought it with a strong running sb Chevy which I was told had been bored, punched and cammed 6k miles before I bought it. I didn't like the engine and had a donor 64 Chevelle SS with the correct 327 block (3782870) ....so I had it rebuilt a few years back to eventually put in the car when I was done with everything else.... we never got there obviously. Both engines come with the car and have been stored inside our shop the whole time. I would recommend checking them thoroughly before re-installing as they have sat for a few years.
Comes with a 63 Hardtop and a white soft top that fabric is in fair condition at best.
Options: AM/FM Radio & Power Steering, 4speed transmission (haven't checked vin for originality.)Trim tag indicates Riverside Red with Black interior.
  • '66 seats and interiorupholstery (other than carpet, which probably needs replaced) have been redone and are in good shape.
  • Door glass is ok. Rear view mirror glass is broken.
  • No Windshield!!
  • Hood.... I was told was from a big block car, possibly '66 can't recall for sure.
  • Chrome is mostly all (possibly all) there but some only in fair condition. Plan on spending some $ here.
  • Some extra parts included as well as the manuals/books shown in the pics
  • New clutch in box, some bushings and wire harness as shown.
  • Rallys, rings and centers as shown.
  • Odometer mileage shown, no idea if actual miles (36337 when purchased in 2004)

In summary, If I had the space and time I would eventually make a nice driver out of this car. With the original motor long gone and the other non-original parts (newer taller seats, different hood, top etc) the car will have a hard time ever being a top dollar show car but certainly could make someone a fun, comparatively inexpensive project.
