1950 Chevrolet 3100

For Sale is my 1950 Chevrolet 3100 pickup. I have owned several old Chevy trucks over the past 26 years and most of them were worn completely out and had rust in the normal places, rear cab corners, floor, kick panels, cowl panels, etc. but not this truck. This truck is totally rust free and unmolested.
Until last August when I bought it, this truck spent all it's life in the pacific northwest, and a most of it's life on an apple farm in eastern Washington and was always garage kept. It even still has the original 66 year old bed wood that is in great condition and the reason why is because it's been kept inside and the previous owner had linseed oil applied to the wood on a regular basis. I just applied linseed oil last fall.
The truck had 61,740 original miles on it when I bought it last August and since then I have put 700 miles on it driving it to car shows and just for fun. It now has 62,475.
The truck is solid and tight. The doors close good and all the glass is good, in fact both windshields and rear glass has been replaced with new rubber seals. Both windows roll up and down with no problem.
New cab wind lace has been installed along with new rubber door seals because as we know, that stuff dry rots, and many other rubber seals were replaced.
About the only thing that isn't original is the new grille and new hubcaps and wheel trim rings but the truck just looks so nice with those new items.
The old rubber floor mat was replaced along with door panels. I was going to have the seat recovered but haven't had time this year yet.
Someone replaced the headliner and put in a gray one which I didn't care much for but it works for now.
The original 216 runs great and carries good oil pressure. When I got the truck, it still had some original paint and you could still see the "Thrift Master" on the valve cover, but because the areas where the paint had worn off, surface rust was starting to develop so I shot some paint on the engine to protect it.
The 4 speed tranny shifts good in all gears, does not pop out of gear, and is quite as is the rear end. This truck runs, drives, and stops great. No pulling to the right or left when the brakes are applied.
The truck has new tires all the way around, and I was surprised that is had the spare tire carrier because I have never owned an old Chevy that had it because most people took them off and threw then away.
This truck is an absolute time capsule because it still looks like it did when it was built in June of 1950, other than some wear. I think a person would be hard pressed to find an original truck that is in any better original condition than this truck. and I really hate to sell it and wouldn't if I hadn't found a 1954 which is a truck I have wanted for a long time.
The visor is "Vision Visor" which I have not seen but just a few of.
I had this truck appraised at a local vintage car restoration shop for my insurance company, and the owner appraised the truck at $30,000 because of it's original, rust free condition. The appraisal will go with the truck, along with a huge folder of documentation of work and things that has been done to the old truck over the years.
