BUILT 468 BB, DUAL QUADS, M21 4 SPEED, QUICK PERFORMANCE FORD 9", 4 WHEEL DISCS!
1983 Chevrolet El Camino SS
This 1983 Chevrolet El Camino SS is nicknamed "The Beast", and you'll believe it the moment you lay eyes on this full custom build that includes a performance-built 486ci V8 motor and four-speed manual. In fact, the only thing not outrageous on this pickup is the price. This is all the best parts of the classic Chevy attitude in one build. It starts with the body. The El Camino is one of the most iconic styles in the American vintage landscape. The NASCAR-inspired aerodynamic front-end of the Monte Carlo SS is something we all love to see. But this one gets unique very quickly, because while the cowl hood is iconic, the 5-inch power bulge on this one is an instant attention grabber (especially as it proudly announces the monster 468 motor under the hood, but more on that in a moment.) The dual SS stripe package is rendered in the legendary Hugger Orange. It's finished off with genuine American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, which only the best American classics wore in the muscle car era. This best of Chevy muscle attitude continues inside with the custom bucket seats wrapped in houndstooth and black leather. There's even a Hurst shifter in the center console. But more than just built to be iconic, the interior is a comfortable place to spend some time. The door panels and carpeting feel fresh and crisp, as does the SS steering wheel. The accent colors coordinate nicely with the exterior color scheme. But as you gaze over this full custom interior, the large AutoMeter Pro-Comp tach with shift light is a nice reminder there's something very special under the hood. The engine bay is filled with a 454 big-block motor. But that wasn't enough so the V8 was bored .60 over for a monstrous displacement of 468. And the upgrades don't stop there. Built by race car master Ronald Chaisum, he upped the compression 11 to 1, as well as added port & polished performance heads, Edelbrock Performer Plus cam, Comp Cams roller rockers, dual Edelbrock 600 CFM quad carbs, Edelbrock intake, MSD ignition, and so much more to list that we'd run out of room (but call today, and we'll give you all the details.) This performance build exhales with authority out of Hooker Super Competition headers that connect to the Flowmaster dual exhaust. You get the most out of this full package thanks to the Muncie M21 close ratio four-speed manual that mates to a Ford 9-inch rear end by Quick Performance. In fact, the fully reinforced rear package is built to handle up to 950 hp thanks to the Richmond 3.70 rear end with 31-spline Moser axles. But as much at this it built to be a street-eating dominator, take a moment to look at what the full package really offers. The rebuilt front suspension (including 90/10 Lakewood struts), power steering, and four-wheels disc brakes are all great cruising features. In fact, you'll be amazed at how tame "The Beast" can be when you just want to cruise. We all love El Caminos; we all love big block performance muscle cars; and we all love affordable classics. That's why we know this one is going to be leaving our showroom soon. Call today!!!
