Description:
1948 Chevrolet Other Pickups
1948 Chevy Pickup Truck Model 3100 1/2 Ton Fort Chaffee Special. First, this is a very unusual Chevy Pickup Truck, in that, it was originally used at Fort Chaffee. I was told by the previous owner that it was a Base Truck at Ft. Chaffee, and that it had many roles and was possibly used to tow early jets around the field up into the 1960s. I don't know if this is true or not, but the truck was originally painted a bright Air Force Blue color, and there is a Ft. Chaffee badge on the front, driver's-side fender. (See photo.) When I bought this truck, the previous owner had lightly painted the entire truck with brown primer, and even covered the chrome with the primer to protect it. The truck is in fairly good overall condition for its age, and I'll do my best to provide a good description. I got this truck to restore, which I never got around to. The interior and exterior of the truck are about what you would expect for a 68 year old truck, so you will see some rust on the doors, sills, rocker panels, etc.. The engine block is mounted to the frame, but there is no head or top-end components. Also, there is no transmission or drive shaft. I do not have a title to this truck, and assume that you will be restoring it or reconstructing it into a customized machine, or parting it out. The Serial Number is 3HP-H 28778, if I am reading this correctly (based on the look-up codes), it was assembled in St. Louis, MO in August of 1948, Series 3100

Please look over the photos carefully, and ask me any questions you have. I will answer them to the best of my ability, in that I am not a vintage Chevy truck expert.

This truck is located at the top of my rural driveway, for you to pick up, if you are the winning bidder. Or, if you will be having the truck transported, I will be glad to meet the hauler and assist him, as best as I can, etc.. This truck must be picked up at my farm near West Fork, Arkansas. If you wish to have it shipped, all costs and arrangements must be paid for and taken care of by you, the Buyer.

THE $100 DEPOSIT ONTHIS TRUCK MUST BE PAID FOR WITHIN 3 BUSINESS DAYS VIA PAYPAL, WITH THE REMAINDER DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS VIA CASH or CASHIER'S CHECK. ARRANGEMENTS FOR PICKUP MUST BE MADE WITHIN 15 DAYS OF PAYMENT BECAUSE THE PROPERTY WHERE IT IS LOCATED IS BEING SOLD.Vehicle Details:
