1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham

I love the '60s Cadillac, especially the extravagant, Fleetwood . If you ask me which year is my favorite, the answer might well depend on the vintage of the Caddy I'm looking at (although I don't especially care for the 1960 or '69 models—sorry, bookends), so it might just be because it's the one in front of me, but this '67 Fleetwood Brougham looks awfully appealing.

Long and lovely, large and in charge, this radical '67 Caddy will make you the talk of the country club when you pull up and get out of this beauty especially if you have some eye candy under you wing. A Fleetwood Brougham is distinguished by these rear seat footrests and Rolls-Royce-style writing tables, in addition to the vinyl roof covering. I don't think it would fly in today's market, but there's something very luxurious looking about buttoned and tufted leather, completely overstuffed. Impression is everything, and this car will definitely make a great first one!

Exterior

A several decades old respra, certainly not perfect, but still respectable covers the steel slab panels of this 133” long wheelbase piece of Detroit iron. While the perimeter frame and 133-inch wheelbase were carried over from 1966, the '67 Fleetwood got new styling, making this perhaps the cleanest-looking Cadillac of the decade. New stacked headlights upfront, and vertical taillights to match styling, obviously there's no disguising this car's bulk, but crisply tailored sheetmetal and elegant, restrained detailing—note, for example, the way the chrome rocker panel trim along the rear quarter panel rises to follow the line of the wheel opening—also mean that it never descends into vulgarity. A clean but showing some bubbling and rust underneath vinyl top on the C pillars, with correct badging sits atop, and clean Caddy wheel covers are on all 4 corners and are wrapped in thin whites. Chrome is showing some pitting but still holds up beautifully .

Interior

Larger than the average New Yorker's apartment, and flooded with black pattern cloth seats in all its tufted buttoned splendor, there are miles of this stuff in this passenger compartment. The rear offers up footrests, and the essential folding desks. Remember I said you will arrive in style. The original dash, and power conveniences abound also in this luxurious interior, with some rust seen around the odometer and trip odometer. The power seat still works, power windows go up and dow, and the consigner states that the A/C needs a recharge every summer, this one being no exception. What to my wondering eye does appear but I see cruise control? Black carpeting floods the floors and is in very clean condition. A tight headliner floats above this comfy compartment and has all functional accent lighting in working order.the radio works along with Bebe antena.

Drivetrain

With all that metal to get going, a flip of the hood and we note an original unrestored 429ci displaced V8, which pumps out 340hp, and is fed by a single 4-barrel carb. A Turbohydramatic automatic transmission is attached to the rear, and shifts smoothly. Surface rust resides here.
