1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible

There are a few cars that thoroughly epitomize automotive elegance and this luxurious 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible easily falls into that category. With a beautiful double-emerald presentation, this fully-loaded two-door classic is almost completely original, a rarity for a 45-year-old car in this day and age. If you're looking for personal luxury with the exhilaration of top-down driving, you've found the right car. So, let's see what it's like to ride in style.
You can easily get lost in the depth of the outside appearance of this Caddy. The factory finish is a slick, vibrant green hue known as Cadillac Greenbrier Firemist Metallic. It's a color that acquits itself extremely well to a larger car like this, amply showcasing the automobile's sleek, streamlined body lines. There are no obvious signs of a re-spray and no hard tape lines, so it's believed that this is all original paint (or at the least a faithful respray completed many years ago), and although not perfect, it shows very well as a solid driver-quality classic. Of course, the exterior is further punctuated by nice, big stylishly-crafted chrome bumpers and a full complement of peripheral trim, signature features of the Cadillac brand for generations. The vinyl bumper fillers are intact, and not all cracked and broken as is commonplace on many of these cars. The power convertible top is solid white and complements the green finish extremely well. Actually, it would be hard to imagine two colors that work better together. The top looks like it's rarely been used, meaning this was likely always a fair-weather droptop, and it opens and closes with the flick of a switch inside the cabin. The factory Cadillac hubcaps are super clean and enhanced by the prominent whitewalls that adorn a set of grippy 15-inch radials that complete the look perfectly.
Climb inside, and you'll immediately feel yourself enveloped in plush dark green Sierra grain leather upholstery. These spacious seats are as comfortable as your favorite living room recliner, so just make yourself at home, and with their wide surfaces there's plenty of room for all your friends. Overall, the interior is in very good original shape except for a little minor wear here and there, but that should be expected for a car of this vintage. And the comfort level can easily forgive the minor imperfections that can be found in some of the leather and the large dash. Speaking of that large wrap-around dash, it's all in-tact and stock like the day it left the factory, featuring clean and clear control faces on all the stock gauges and instruments. Wood grain accents run side-to-side and on the original 3-spoke steering wheel that's attached, and it's continued on the door panels for a sophisticated look that really classes things up inside. Everything is likely original, including the green carpet that's showing signs of use, but thanks to the protection of a full set of floor mats, it's still very presentable. It's a Caddy, so this baby is loaded with options like factory A/C, power windows, locks, and front seat, along with tilt steering, cruise control and the original AM/FM radio in the dash. She has just about everything you could order back then, as you might expect from a high-class Eldo. Out back the trunk is cavernous, with a full-size spare and black carpeting neatly laid down on the floors. So pack heavily and hit the road, because this Caddy is ready to go cross-country with the top down.
Powering this Eldo is a massive 500 cubic inch V8 engine that runs great and doesn't flinch at the notion of carrying this big car down the interstate at cruising speed. This motor has a reputation for reliability and is amazingly responsive upon acceleration. The numbers-matching power plant is backed up by a sturdy three-speed TH425 transmission that shifts flawlessly, handling all the torque with ease as it shifts smooth as butter. Put this car on a lift and you'll get up close and personal with a meticulously-engineered suspension system that delivers one of the smoothest rides you could ever imagine, with power steering and power front disc brakes improving the ride experience immensely. Torsion bars up front and a coil spring set-up in back mean this car handles like a dream and floats down the highway like you're riding on a cloud. Even the exhaust system is still stock, featuring a newer chambered muffler and the original catalytic convertor down below. Finishing off the look, the rolling stock rides on a set of beautiful black Cadillac wheel covers and 235/75/15 Hankook whitewall radials.
With American-made convertibles being phased out of production at the time, the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible was an instant collectible as soon as it rolled off the assembly line. Here's your chance to own one for not a lot of cash. Call today!
