Overview Of Entire Vehicle: *Condition #3 (Excellent Driver with minor flaws)
Here is a beautiful 1961 Cadillac "Series 62" convertible. This car is overall a very clean and very solid driver that shows wonderfully. It was restored about fifteen years ago, so it is an older restoration with a few minor flaws. But it is way nicer then most '61 Caddy convertibles out there with a lot of great pluses. We got the car from the estate of its long time owner. It was an older couple that was selling their large home, belongings and collection of vehicles to live a vacation life. When I spoke to the gentleman, this was his favorite car and the one he drove the most. It is finished in its original color of Bristol Blue metallic that really shows great with a beautiful white genuine leather interior. It was a loaded car with great options like factory air conditioning and factory bucket seats. It really runs and drives very well and is a fun car to drive. Under the hood is very clean, stock and original with its original 390ci engine.
The 1961 Cadillac convertible is one the hardest vintage Caddy's to find and one of the most desired. It is one of only 15,500 built in 1961 and who knows how many are left. Most of the ones you see are rough and some of the mint or perfectly restored ones bring outrageous money. Just this year, a 1961 Cadillac Eldorado convertible sold for over $225,000 in perfect restored condition at auction. A so, so 1961 Eldorado sold for over $80,000 at auction in about the same condition as this car here, but had a vinyl interior and several other flaws. This car is priced right on the money for an excellent driver, which this is. It is not perfect, has a few flaws here and there but overall shows great, straight as an arrow and can be driven and enjoyed just the way it is. And would even look like and be a show car to most!!

Exterior: *Condition #3
This car has a beautiful paint finish done in its original color of very pretty Bristol Blue. It was done about 15 plus years ago when the car was restored. They did a great job, as the body is super straight and the paint was hand rubbed to a smooth finish. The paint has a few small imperfections and chips that have been touched up but are all very minor and hardly noticeable. The car just really shows wonderful to most. The body, over all has excellent fit and finish. All the chrome and trim is very nice for a driver and all looks great. The bumper chrome has a couple flaws but still look very nice. The trim and rest of the chrome items look excellent. Everything is shown in our video. All the glass is in great shape. It has a brand new white convertible top that is power and works great along with a new white top boot. It is also sitting on its original wheels with beautiful, polished original hubcaps and wide white wall tires.
Interior: *Condition #3
The interior looks great and looks to have been all redone when the car was restored. They did new carpet, door panels, painted the dash and beautiful genuine leather seat covers in the correct pattern. The dash pad looks to be original and excellent with no cracks or flaws. All of the chrome on the dash and interior is in good original shape with some items better then others. But all looks good for a nice driver. The steering wheel looks nice and original and shows well with a beautiful chrome center. The lights, courtesy lights, gauges, radio, power antenna and wipers all work great. The power bucket seats work good but the drivers seat needs assistance while going back. The autronic eye, clock and cruise control need to be serviced. Inside the trunk is very nice and clean with the correct looking trunk material, spare and jack. It does have a power trunk release and pull down which works but I have unplugged currently as the motor keeps running when the trunk is open. All the glass is in nice condition and the weather stripping looks to be mostly new.
Mechanically: *Condition #3
The car runs and drives excellent. It has its original 390ci V8 engine with a smooth shifting automatic transmission. Everything is very dry with apparent leaks no leaks. Under the hood is very clean, correct and original appearing. The car shows 82K miles, which could possibly be original but we do not have any documentation. The air conditioning was serviced and blows cold but it does not blow on high, which needs to be looked at. It truly runs and drives like a nice clean car would and is very quiet, tight and a pleasure to drive!
Under Carriage: *Condition #4+
The underside is very clean, original and very solid. It is almost completely rust free with no undercoating. The only rust I can find in this car, is a few small spots in the trunk floor, that are very minor in the big picture. They could be repaired or left alone, as they are not a major issue. The rest of the underside is truly the way anyone would love to find any car, just dry and original. The exhaust system is nice and sounds great. The suspension is nice and tight and has a great feel still with nothing appeared to be worn out. This is for the most part a super dry under carriage.
