I heard about this 1963 cadillac convertible from a local fellow car collector who told me that the previous owner was looking to sell it as he was getting older and couldn't drive much longer. He had this stored in his garage for some time. The previous owner only used this here and there in local parades and driving his old lady to the local ice cream shop on weekends. I ended up getting together with him, bought it and drove it home around a hour or so. This caddy is one cool car.
The cosmetics of the car looks really good in my opinion. It held up really well as a survivor and looks really good from ten feet to 5 feet away. you get right next to it you see some minor paint flaws from age etc. In my opinion, i would leave it the way it is as it looks really good to my eyes. I videoed it well so you can see and appreciate what it is. The interior is leather and looks good. normal stuff like wear lines etc. again best to look at the pics and video so you can see it. Definitely usable as is. The radio worked. lights worked.The power top goes up and down great like video shows. The car has a nice boot for when its down.top looked goodbut rear window was sun faded a bit. The power windows went up and down like video show, but passenger side front window I had to help mess with etc to make go.chrome looks good, survivor quality, some really good and other spots showing its age. Some of the floor boards, I was told, were fixed and patched in spots, looked good when i got under it. frame good and trunk area good. We only drove it home and for the video about a hour or so, but it ran great. The car did not over heat or anything abnormal. ran strong with no smoke, knock, or misses. I would recommend going through it generally as it was in the previous owners garage for a while. The brakes stop the car but felt spongy. The tires look serviceable but not new. I had it up to around 60 and it cruised nice. Lots of head turns, thumbs ups and smiles. The fins on this are awesome. I put some extra parts I was given in the trunk. The miles are 86k, I was told they are actual but as it is ten years or older, I am selling it miles exempt.
I am listing this as a no reserve auction, so only bid if you are serious about buying it. the plates and dice do not go with the car as they are part of my personal collection.I require a 200 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. if i do not get the deposit before you come for the truck or within the time frame, i will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it.
