1941 Buick Custom sled from the 70's era. I have pictures from when the car was found in a yard in Texas. The car was chopped by Frank Palmer Customs in Mansfield Texas. Badged by Frank Palmer Kustoms. The chop looks great, and has stood the test of time. A lot of work was involved to achieve this look. The Buick was thenbrought back to Lockport NY and taken to the next step.
The work:
1947 Cadillac treatments went into the enhancements which include the dash for a nice art deco vibe. The front bumper was shaped from a 47 Caddy to lay snug to the grill. Wing windows from a 1950 Ford. The headlight surrounds are 53 Ford. Some stainless help from a 1940 Ford. Handmade cruiser skirts with Buick treatments. The rear was laid forward and a roll pan was installed. Harley fishtail exhaust tips. Rear tail lights relocated with 47 Caddy fender treatments and tail lights. Original Buick stainless was removed and shaved.
The Motor:The motor is a 1961 Buick 401 cubic inch nailhead. Since my ownership I have installeda new fuel pumpand Edelbrock avs 2, a new chrome 100 amp alternator and water pump running a 160 thermostat the car can sit still all day no overheat issues.Radiator was flushed, new belts and hoses. New ignition, ignitor and coil. Plugs with braided wires / battery. New power steering pump with both lines.Topped off by a chrome batwing air cleaner and finned coil cover and finned script Nailhead valve covers. The stance:The car is not lowered. The car was clipped in front with a 1981 El Camino and rear was done with a 1981 El Camino. Has full suspension travel.
Additional work completed:Disc brakes up front and drums in rear. All new front and rear end parts. I did the front coils with upper and lower ball joints with new shocks front and rear. I put on new wheel hubs and brakes with inner and outer bearings. New inner and outer tie rods with end links and sway bar. New Corvette brake booster and master cylinder. New drum brakes in rear with wheel cylinders spring kit etc. New rear shocks and coil springs. The trans:It is a 70-74 Saginaw 4 speed. I replaced the odometer gear however it is not hooked up to the 47 caddy dash. I use my phone for speed and distance.
The rear end:Stock 81 El Camino rear end. Has factory gears. The interior:Vintage Stitch Upholstery, Did the interior in Green Zodiac.with two tone dark mild distressed outsides and metal flake insides.Keeping true to a period sled. Trunk is done as well. The rear seat was removed to have the business coupe look. It has a flip up storage top for chairs. Can be removed if you prefer to run a back seat again.
The Goods:I have every part number and a stack of receipts from the work I have done. I have extra new parts ( not needed ) still in box which include chrome tilt steering column, several front end parts in regard to suspension. Also included is a complete front end. Both fenders, hood and grill. And a spare rear window. Any 41 buick parts I may have will go with car unless you don't want it.
The Paint:The caris Ford green base clear with black added to it. I have a half gallon left over for the new owner.
Notes to mention:I have a new chrome tilt steering column which comes with the car. Blinkers are on a left right switch. Has emergency brake cable run to rear but not connected. Will need a mustang style pull handle to complete or universal version. No wipers but has arms run with plenty of room under dash for a universal electric kit. No door locks or poppers, it is a reach in wing window if windows are up. Trunk was shaved smooth and gravity shuts as is commonly done with early custom sled builds. It is heavy does not bounce.
I have way more $$$ invested in this car by far, and this is a steal! You will never build one for this money.I have a chopped Mercury so I'm just ready for something different.
Sold as is, as seen.Expect an early period time capsule build and you will love this ride.

Lastly:The doors have seals up top but not the whiskers on bottom. Not thinking, I closed the drivers door with the glass half up before end of season storage in 2022 and cracked the driver's side. I had it priced- it's 55 bucks. It is flat glass. Does roll up down with no issues.
If your looking for a Kin Dig It Design or Martin Bros car, you will have to contact them. If you wait and hope to play games later after the auction, I won't even reply.
