Description:
1971 Buick Skylark
I am listing this car for my friend Pete who does not have an eBay account. Pete lives about a mile from me in zip code 18901. Doylestown PA about an hour north of Philadelphia. This is a legit 1971 Buick GS 455. In 1971 you could verify a real GS by the VIN. The VIN starting with 43437 decodes to a 1971 Buick GS with either the 350 or 455. Since Pete has the original number's matching 455, number's matching turbo 400 trans, and original rear end, you can 100% verify this car as a 1971 Buick GS 455.
Here are the specifics on the car. This is a legit 1971 Buick GS 455 with original paint and vinyl top. It has a brand new Legendary interior kit that was professionally installed along with a brand new headliner as well. This is a bucket seat, console car with Sport mirrors and steering wheel. The interior is in mint condition.
The paint and body are in excellent condition. ALL the body panels, floors, and trunk are original GM metal. The paint is original as well. The car does have a Stage 2 style hood installed, but the original factory GS style hood comes with the car. The paint being original does have a minor chip or two as the car does get driven but it still looks fantastic and the car gets a ton of attention at local car shows and cruise nights.
The drivetrain of this car is where it really shines. The original motor, heads, intake, carb, and factory GS air cleaner assembly are all stored safely in Pete's shed to preserve originality. Currently sitting in the engine compartment is another 1971 455 Buick motor that has had some serious performance work done to it. The motor was bored .030 over making it a 462, it received a set of forged pistons that yield 9.7:1 compression with the ported iron Stage 1 heads. Add to that a KB Maxi 3 hydraulic cam with high rev lifters, TA roller rockers, a TA single plane intake and MSD distributor. To top it all off, this motor is fed by a custom built and tuned Quick Fuel carburetor. All the work and along with the wideband 02 tuning was done by Nickerson Performance in Bristol PA. These guys are well known in the area for being experts on custom carb tuning. Pete has all receipts for the work performed as well as dyno sheets. This car made 358HP and 364 ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels.
The exhaust consists of a set of ceramic coated Mickey Thompson headers into a mandrel bent 3" exhaust system with Spintech 9000 series mufflers. This car sounds absolutely NASTY!!! Pete lives about a mile from me and I can hear him coming from a while away...ha ha!
All that power runs through a custom 9" JW torque converter into a newly built Tri-Shield Level 2 turbo 400 transmission built by Jim Weise and that runs back to a 12 bolt posi rear with 3:73 gears. Trust me this car moves out!! Between the custom carb tuning and all the motor work, it's totally dialed in and ready to enjoy. Just turn the key and go!
The car has power steering, power disc brakes, AC, and even cruise control!! It rides on a set of black powder coated Weld Drag Lights with 295/55/15 ET Street Drag radials and the front wheels sport a set of 26x8x15 street radial tires.
As I stated above, Pete has all the original parts that were removed from the car. These include the number's matching 455 with heads, intake, Q-jet carb, and the factory style GS ram air cleaner. He also has all the AC components as well as the number's matching turbo 400 transmission, original rear, and the factory GS hood.
Ebay only allows 24pictures. I have tons of pictures and videos of the car that I can text or email. This car needs NOTHING. Get it, turn the key, and enjoy. It runs like a dream, sounds fantastic, and gets tons of attention wherever it goes. Anyone who knows Buicks, knows that they are phenominal performers and this car will not disappoint.
Please feel free to ask any additional questions. The car is located in Doylestown PA 18901. Doylestown is about an hour north of Philadelphia. The car has a clean and clear title in Pete's name. Again....this is NOT my car, I'm just helping a friend by listing it for him.
The car and the title will NOT leave Pete's possession until he has received full payment. Pete will be available to assist with any shipping requirements. Buyer is 100% responsible for shipping.
I can also provide his cell # for serious buyers.
