Description:

1940 Buick Super

I will be listing a few cars here in the next week or two for my family. We are reducing are number of cars, so please see my other listings as well. I am not a dealer.

The 1940 Buick was a great design by the legendary Harley Earl with its "Torpedo" C-body and a lot of great features for that time period. Not only is the car a great looking design, but it's also quite a roomy, comfortable, and practical car to drive compared to others in that time period. Stays with modern roads and traffic just fine. Also a full size back seat for extra passengers!
Here we have a beautiful Buick Super that has been well loved by its past few owners. It has been serviced well through the years, has never needed a full restoration, and has been garage kept its whole life. This would be a very nice car for all your cruise night events, local car shows, or just own/drive for fun! This car will be a treasure for your family to own for years to come and a great investment too.

This coupe was owned by a Buick Club member for many years and was his favorite car to drive to shows and cruise-ins. The original engine runs very well, idles smooth, and makes very good power. The transmission shifts well/smooth and has a good feeling clutch. Doors open and close nicely with a thud. The car drives excellent. No excessive play in the steering, noises, or anything of that sort. VERY easy to steer and stop. The 12 conversion is also a big plus.

Just a beautiful looking car both inside and out. While there are various areas that have been touched up, and the paint is older, you can see that it shines very well and is very attractive in the photos. FYI - There are some faint outlines of flames around the hood and fender from a previous owner perhaps putting some pinstripes on it in the past and have since been removed. These may buff out with a high speed buff, but I'm not sure. This Buick has been in a good climate all of its life and has always been garage kept. The chrome and stainless is in very good condition. It has re-chromed bumpers and taillight bezels. It has a very nice original dash, a beautiful steering wheel, horn ring, knobs, and controls. The interior in general is quite nice also. Engine bay and trunk are both clean and tidy. It is a great looking car that you should be proud to take to all your events or just drive for fun and special occasions. Hard to believe you're looking at an 82 year old car really. Should win a trophy at some of the local shows you go to.
