This is an early (first model year) 100% rust free E-24 (series 1) 1977 BMW 630 CSI. This beauty is an original California car since new. The 630 starts right up and runs extremely well! It has only 73,103 original miles. The idle is smooth and the acceleration is positive. The car feels tight and is truly the "ultimate driving machine". The transmission shifts like it is supposed to and pulls like a train. The car is fun to drive and is an absolute pleasure to cruise around. The brakes are firm and the car stops on a dime. It does not pull or swerve upon acceleration or braking. The steering is super tight and feels agile while maneuvering down the road. All mechanical, electrical and climate control systems seem to be in fine working order. There are no known issues. The car has no apparent leaks, doesn't smoke, or make any unusual noises. It is a very nice car that is mechanically sound!! All power windows work and the air conditioning blows strong cold air.
The engine compartment is very tidy. The car has been serviced recently and all hoses, belts and accessories are well sorted.
The body on this Beemer is superb. There are no major imperfections and of course it is absolutely 100% rust free since new. There is no rust, rust repair, blisters or bubbles anywhere whatsoever. This is the beauty of original dry California cars. There is a minor crease/ding on the passenger (upper) door (see pics), some minor paint chips, and miscellaneous imperfections you would expect on a 5 year old car, impressive condition to say the least on a 40+ year old car. The body is incredibly straight!
The paint has a glossy-lustrous sheen throughout. The finish has an honest appeal with a lot of character with a lovely patina, with that being said there are always going to be imperfections on any un-restored car, ie; chips, dings, hazing, nicks, touch up's,etc. This BMW is an incredibly handsome-timeless automobile from every angle and there is nothing that takes away from how attractive it is.
-No accidents, virgin nose, nice grill, markers, lamps and lenses-Clean emblems, trim, weatherstripping bumper ends and rubber components-Brand new Cooper tires on a polished set of stock wheels-Excellent chrome, aluminum, mirrors and handles
The interior is lovely. Nice original leather, near mint headliner and gorgeous door panels. The dash has some typical cracks, none to loose sleep over, still very nice, but they are there and should be mentioned.
The carpeting, instrumentation, dials, instrument cluster - gauges and console are all very nice!
This is a great car to see, or be seen in. We hope the next owner/operator appreciates it as much as we do.

The initial proposal for the E24 was a based on aBMW E93.0CS with an increased height, in order to make it easier for customers to get into the car. However,Bob Lutzrejected the proposal, eventually leading to the shape of the E24 in its production form.[10]Unlike itsE9predecessor, the body of the E24 has aB pillar.[11]
Production started in January 1976 with the 630CS and 633CSi in February 1976. Originally the bodies were manufactured byKarmann, but production was later taken in-house to BMW. Initially, the E24 was based on theE12 5 Seriesplatform.
Front suspension consists ofMacPherson strutsand the rear suspension is independentsemi-trailing arms.[12]In 1982, the front suspension was upgraded to include twin-pivot lower control arms and the geometry of the rear suspension was revised.[13]
The steering uses arecirculating ballsystem with power assistance.
