I purchased this car from the original owner, who in 1986 traded in her 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass for it to Classic BMW-Ferrari in Dallas, Tx. It was her first new-BMW purchase. All records dating back to the original purchase order are intact and included. She was very particular about the car as evidenced by the voluminous service records noting things as minor as chipped roundel badges, noisy windshield wipers, or low tire pressure. All maintenance was performed on or ahead of schedule by the dealer or local European garages. Eventually kept for sentimental value as an extra vehicle in the late '90's the car was only driven a few hundred miles over the next decade. The owner remarried and moved in 2006, necessitating a new title be issued which resulted in the DMV reporting this as a two owner vehicle. Regardless of this, the same woman has owned and maintained this car since new, as shown on all service documents. In the early to mid 2000's, this car was driven only enough to keep it running, but eventually being stored in 2007. It was last inspected and registered in 2008 and those stickers are still on the windshield. It remained parked in their garage until 2018, re-emerging as a time capsule of sorts as her neighbor helped to liquidate assets due to her deteriorating health and relocation to an assisted living facility. It was at this time that I intercepted this car in an effort to maintain its unique story and pass it on to a fellow BMW enthusiast searching for a particularly clean, one owner, all original E30.

This extremely clean E30 is completely original with no modifications or evidence of past "stories". There are not many of these types around anymore. The original transmission was replaced under warranty by Classic in 1993. New steering rack in 2001. Rebuilt instrument cluster in 2002 and is still functional. Dozens upon Dozens of other service documents over a 30 year span. The Michelin tires on the vehicle were installed new in 1998. The A/C system is still R12. The original BMW radio works and includes both security code cards and the cassette cleaning kit. The original trunk tool and jack kit are also complete and in excellent condition, as is the original Pirelli Cinturato spare tire.
Classic BMW-Ferrari repainted the driver side door, rear bumper area and fender in 1987 at customer's request due to paint chips and minor dents (per records). The driver front fender appears to have had paintless dent repair above the wheel well but otherwise there are no other dents anywhere on the car. There are small spots of touch up paint in various places around the car but surprisingly very little road chips or rock pitting which leads us to believe this was not a "road-trip" car. All panels appear original. (BMW did not VIN label panels in '86.) All doors close in a solid manner and the car feels nice and tight.
Everything works on the car.Overall condition is fantastic for being over 30 ears old. Dash is crack free. Trim is clean and bright, plastics show almost like new, and paint appears very glossy. The car starts and runs very well with no misfires or stumbles. It drives straight, quietly, and shifts smoothly with no hints of anything amiss. No odd interior odors. Never smoked in. It is not missing parts, even the undercarriage panels are still present and intact. Even the trunk tool and jack kit are still complete.There is absolutely no rust that I could find on the car. It was purchased new in Dallas, Tx and has remained here in town, garaged. It has never been subjected to harsh environments or rodent damage.Although not a dealer, I do own a BMW shop and have gone through the car and found it mechanically sound. After being pulled out of storage we installed a new BOSCH battery, new fuel pump and filter, flushed the fuel tank and system, flushed all fluids, installed new rear upper shock mounts, wiper blades, and detailed the car.

The tires are from 1998. While they hold air fine, they are cracking and should be replaced before driving long distances. We can install new tires at our wholesale cost if desired. The driver seat bolster is worn through. That's about all the "bad" that we can find.
Records are extensive and date back to the original 1986 purchase order. If they are not absolutely complete, they should be very close. This was a professionally serviced car not owner serviced (DIY) so included records should reflect all service history.
In the spirit of keeping this "time capsule" as close to original as found, I have done enough to make the car run and drive properly but I have not replaced the tires or racked up miles of road testing. As you can see in the pics, the 2008 registration stickers are still on the car. Clean Texas title in hand. To the next owner I will offer to replace the tires at my shop cost, and can provide any additional services the new owner may desire. I can also arrange shipment coast to coast at wholesale rates.
