Description:

1968 AMC Rebel Convertible

Hello, p for auctionis a true garage find 1968 AMC Rebel Convertible. I picked this up a couple weeks ago from the original owners son. It is a 100%originalcar, ever wrecked with original documents. Was purchased in Raytown, O at Raytown Rambler. This is the base 550 but was ordered with the 343 4 barrel 285hp motor. Other options include power steering, port steering wheel, lock and dealer installed hang on A/C. This car is very honest has all original paint and interior other than the new OEM style carpet I painfully installed. I also have replaced the starter and solenoid car starts but does not drive. All the systems will have to be checked over as you would expect since it has sat for over 35 years. The top was replaced before it went in storage and is very nice other than two pencil lead type holes and a bad plastic back window (I have the original glass window). I also installed a brand new set of proper size whitewall tires.

I looked around the car the only rust holes I could find was in the rear quarters and the left rear and right front floor boards. I properly replace the floors with flat sections that were bead rolled and butt welded fully to give a OEM finish, lso the proper drain plug holes were duplicated.

The interior is truly nice! It does have some areas if you want pick over it but it is nicer that drivers condition. Dash pad, oor panels, eats, arpet, ash, auges, trim and misc. are all nice I would not touch it and leave as is!

Original documents are included such as copy of the original title, wners manual, arranty manual and warranty owners card.

This is a very rare car less than 400 were built of the 550 model in1968 and probably just a handfull had the 343 4 barrel.

Be the one to own this 1968 AMC Rebel Convertible!

Please understand this car has sat the better part of over 35 years. Expect the unexpected! The motor is sound but expect to go through all systems such as cooling, rakes and fuel system. There is a lot of car here and some of the hard workisdone but there is more work to go!

These are the pictures I have now. I will upload a full picture pack within 72hrs so check back.

Please ask any and all questions 12hrs prior to auction end so I can respond in a timely manner.

Ok, s you can see I finally posted some pictures! I apologize I have had trouble with my device and weather.

To clarify I have a good Kansas title in my name.I also have a copyof the original as seen in picture 23.

I will post a picture of the engine bay tomorrow thatwas my oversight.

Picture 22 shows theRF and LR floors after the repairs were made. Only minor seem seal and coating will be needed underneath to complete cosmetically.

I have had information showing between 12 and 23 of these 550 model convertibles were built with the 343. I am sure most of those were 2 barrel andthis little Rebel is a 4 barrel so yes this one is arare one. Not to mention when is the last time you have seen a Rebel or ever seen one?

As mentioned before this is a very honest car. I have done nothing to "cover up" anything. The paint appears to be 100% original as well as the interior other than the carpet and the upper drivers seat bolster was repaired.

If you have anyquestions please ask and HAPPY BIDDING!!!
