Description:

1974 AMC Javelin

You arelooking at a beautiful 1974 AMC Javelin. It is an unmolested example of the last of the breed. 1974 was the last year for the Javelin and this one is very nice example of a quality driver. The car came of California and was there for most of it's life and this means NO RUST!No restoration needed here-just get in and drive it! I just put two new mufflers on it which replaced the originals! With the exception of the radio(aftermarket) it appears everything is in working order including the factory AC which has been upgraded to R134. Horn, ignals and fuel gauge are functioning properly. Previous owner had installed aftermarket gauges for water temp and oil pressure.

Please note: the Rally wheels (15 x 7s) will not come with the car. They belong to a 72 AMXproject car that is also for sale here on eBay. I have decide they need to remain with the AMX. The car had 14 inch Magnums on it when I got it and that is what will be on it when it sells. I do have a nice set of15 x 7 Torque Thrust D wheels (pictured) with virtually new speed rated 225/60/15 tires that will include atanominal cost to the final price. I have come to the realization that I don't have space for both cars and I plan to keep one of them. If this car sells, hen the 72 will get my full attention and the restoration will be competed. If the 72 project car sells, hen I will keep this car and enjoy it.

The car has nice options including the desirable P code 360, C, ilt wheel, nd I think it was an original stereo car(grills in doors). Color is Sienna Orange and has a driver quality paint job which I believe is over the original paint. It shines nicely and won't embarrass you at the local cruise in's or car shows. Paint appears original underhood and in the jams.

The car starts right up and purrs like a kitten. It rides and drives tight considering it's age. The only thing I would do to it if I were to keep it would be to change out the springs both front and rear. It's a little soft.

I have good documentation including thousands of dollars worth of receipts over the years that include the A/C repairs and upgrades, ransmission rebuild, ew carburetor, ew radiator (correct type) strut rod bushings and others. The coolest documentation is the original purchase security agreement showing the car was purchased in San Francisco on November 5, 973 for$3285.90 and financed for 30 months with payments of $109.53!

In summary what you have here is a veryaffordable classic that you can enjoy today and continue to upgrade if you so chose. This is a reserve auction but I believe it is very modest for a car this nice. I haven't included a buy it now but would consider all fair offers to end the auction early. Please ask questions if I haven't answered them here before you bid. Shipping is your responsibility. Thanks for taking a look
