1991 Alfa Romeo Spider

Vehicle Details

1991 Alfa Romeo Spider, 5sp. I have owned this lovely Italian roadster since 2005. It has been a summer only car, stored in inclement weather in a heated garage. Paint, top, trim, and interior all in excellent condition as seen in photos. Synthetic oil and genuine Alfa oil filter used exclusively during annual maintenance. After 14 years of trouble free service in 2019 I had the finest Alfa shop in the Northeast do a preventative mechanical reconditioning. Due to the inconvenient logistics of having the car serviced there I told them to do everything that either needed or would be needed in the foreseeable future. The list included, exhaust, suspension, transmission and motor mounts, plugs, front calipers, rotors and pads, wheel bearings, driver side window regulator, belts, hoses, radiator, etc.(the clutch was done just before I bought the car at 48,000 miles) everything except the factory a/c and a defective air bag sensor was attended to. The top on the Alfa goes down at the start of good weather and never goes up until put into storage so the a/c was never an issue for me here on Cape Cod. The factory a/c would have to be converted to modern refrigerant to make it functional. A replacement for the faulty air bag sensor is no longer available and could not be sourced. The bill came to nearly 10k (receipt shown in pictures) and the car has done only a few thousand miles since. Even low mileage cars need work as they age. Bear this in mind when looking at other Spiders. The car is fitted with H and R springs and Koni shocks at all four corners and the adage that "nothing handles like an Alfa" is certainly applicable here. Power mirrors, power antenna, excellent cassette stereo with upgraded speakers, built in Passport radar detector all function properly. The prior owner disclosed that a clumsy driver grazed the car in a parking lot and repair to the driver's side door and front fender was required. Paint matches perfectly and no evidence of the repair can be seen. In summation, this is a well sorted, rust free, lovingly cared for example sure to appreciate over time. In the 18 years I've owned her she has has only once failed to start and that was simply a battery gone dead. Thought I'd keep her forever, but now that college tuitions are almost over a Porsche has turned my head and arrives in late April so garage space mandates that the Alfa go to new home. Just woke her up for pictures (see photo of her cover coming off), and after several months on the battery tender she fired on the third crank and ran perfectly.
