Description:

1991 Alfa Romeo Spider White

Let me first say that I love this car. Secondly it is coming from someone with deep roots in Alfa Romeo. My uncle in Rome worked for the company and I grew up with these cars imported by my Father directly from Italy. I also have strong connections with Alfa shops in the Los Angeles area where my friend worked for a long time. I am a full blooded Italian American and owned 3 other Alfa models in California one of which I still get Thank You messages from the current owner who enjoys all the upgrades I did. My name is Christian Giusti and I am an Alfaholic!

This particular car will blow you away on the reliability. Strong drive ability. Sporty-handling, with satisfying gated shifting makes for a spirited drive.
Had the top and interior customized to my taste. Poured a lot of time and money into it so I could have my fun but now I need the space and the money for home repairs. Not to mention my other more needy, 50s and 60s pair of FIAT 600s
This ALFA SPIDER is garaged in Sarasota FL. (Not affected by hurricane Matthew) As a matter of fact the car has never seen much rain at all. Never leave it outside. Always garaged.
Car has lots of upgrades. Suspension is all racing spec. Very tightly tuned and handles like a true Rear Wheel Drive Italian sports car with racing bloodline.
NO RESERVE AUCTION!
Paint overall is a 6 out of 10. Could use clear coat for extra protection or a good polishing up. Paint is single -stage re-spray job which was done about a year or two ago.
I would highly recommend a metallic pearl in the clear coat to give this car that more modern vibrant appeal.
Few quarks: The clock does not come on, AC needs to be recharged but remember this is a convertible!
Oil does leak from oil pan gasket when it cools down there will be a small puddle the size of your hand. It drips slightly from drain plug from what I can tell. Convertible top may leak slightly? Was replaced about 5 years ago and reconditioned since then. Never left in the rain I have never seen it leak. The rear window is still clear enough to see out of. So overall the top is acceptable.
Here are the definite perks:
-Suspension is mostly all new as is all the motor and transmission mounts.
-Many hoses, gas tank, fuel pumps, filter and gaskets. All trim is nice gaskets are okay and stereo system all updated. Carpet all looks new entire interior appears 2-4 years old
Car has been gone over inside and out. Fuel line has been all updated from injector seals to new fuel pumps and again even has a new gas tank from Vicks!
One spark plug wire does not match because the other one pulled apart. This car IS VERY RELIABLE! Starts up EVERY time!!!!
Does have some quirks as most Alfas do. Although most of the rubber was replaced in this car, when the motor mounts and transmission mount was being replaced, the speedometer cable was damaged (See last picture) Therefore the speedometer and odometer no longer works until the cable is replaced. Not difficult to do just need the part. Mileage is still accurate (See Autocheck to verify.) Car has not been driven more than about 10 miles since. Additionally Rear tires are also old and dry rotted and will need replacement soon. They have flat spots from sitting. I assume the next owner will want to put new performance tires on it anyway.
Car leaks oil as they say, "If your Alfa doesn't leak oil, you probably don't drive it." I have been driving this one a little bit here and there and love the car but need to focus my time on my home renovation.
If you would like to contact me the owner personally, to ask any questions the phone number is 9419283819
For those that don't know, this is the S4 Series 4 Alfa Spider. These used a galvanized steel body that protected against the rust that killed many of the earler models. This one has also been gone through and protected with heavy duty bedliner under the floor mat and in the trunk as well as a heavy duty undercoating. No RUST. This has always been garaged in Southern Florida for most of its life. Welcome to inspect!
The last of the spiders and among the last of the Alfas that were imported in the 90s. Now they are coming back to the states but you won't be able to touch them for anywhere near this price!
This is a true classic sports car.
Dont let this one get away! Florida car, came from MIAMI. See auto history report and I do hold clear Florida title in my name.
Youtube Video: Will post a good video giving a full tour of the car soon! Stay tuned later in the week!
Thanks!
Previous buyer had second thoughts a week after I agreed to hold it for him probably due to his ignorance of shipping cost.
Just know that Uship.com allows you to make a bid for the car BEFORE auction end just to give you an advantage on getting a good deal on the shipping cost. Go to shipping and there may be a quote that gives you a price range for shipping the car. Those quotes go up and down and you can put a bid in much less and get an even better shipping rate if you wait a week or so. IT IS VERY EASY AND VERY COST EFFECTIVE method of shipping cars. I have used it a few times before and always had good experiences. Be aware if you are not a serious buyer who is not willing to take on what is necessary for a used Alfa Romeo then please do not bid. If you understand this, just know $300 non-refundable deposit is due 48 hours after winning bid. I obviously am selling because I need the garage space and buyer has one week to secure shipping or pickup. (I need the space soon.) Note that I do support third party inspection before auction end and it should be gone over again by your mechanic before taking it on any long distance drives. Please understand that Alfa Romeo cars are specialized and usually require above average careful maintenance but qualified mechanic. I want this car to go to a happy buyer and good home. Thank you and happy bidding!
