1970 VW Bug Woodie

1970 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

Just completed one of a kind VW Woodie. This car has a real wood body, ot plywood screwed to door. Body is made of Birdseye Maple with Birch Burl panels. Has roll up windows and locking doors. Car runs and drives, ew electronic ignition, arb and plug wires. All lights work, ipers work. Brand new Coker Wide Whitewall tires. New exhaust. 40 Ford steering wheel. Antique rear view mirror with clock. Had clock rebuilt but does run now maybe overwound. Fiberglass front end and fenders replicate a 37 Ford. Turn signals in headlights. This car took a year of hard work. Top material came from LaBaron-Bonney and is real auto top material not cheap vinyl. New brakes with disc up front. 2" lowered in front. Very nice pinstripes. Fog lights are not wired up, ut could be. New upholstery with embroidered front seats. New carpet. No radio but prewired rear 6x9 speakers. Marathon powder coated wheels with early Ford style hubcaps. Vehicle is not a show car but could be with little touches. Veneer a little rippled in a couple of spots. This car will drive at freeway speed but it is not the fastest. It runs and drives exactly like the 70 VW Bug it is. There are no issues with the transmission.
