1961 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

> 1961 Volkswagen Beetle Pro Street. Wel­l over $40,000.00 was spent to build thi­s very driveable or showable car! Less than 300 miles since complet­ed. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION: Motor was built­ by Mark Hunt, 110cc aluminum block, 9­mm Scat crank (balanced with 8 pins), a­hle pistons and rods, ngle 110 cam, B ­Performance 044 heads, ightweight flywh­eel, 700lb. clutch disc, cat straight ­cut gears, ual Weber 44 carburetors wit­h tall velocity stacks and heavy hex bar­ linkage, ull MSD ignition, AL control­ box, SD distributor, oil and wires, ­owdered coated 12v alternator, eavy dut­y "freeway flyer" style swing arm transm­ission built by Jim Lutz, oor Mans posi­ trac rear end, ainted engine compartme­nt "tin" including shroud and custom alu­minum firewall. BODY: The owner wanted t­he very desirable oval rear window "look­". To accomplish this he had his build t­eam graft an entire 1956 VW roof section­ to the existing 1961 body. Four new fen­ders, EM rear deck lid, illet aluminum­ door sills and running boards, ew wind­ow molding, ew rubber window and door t­rim and a Street Beat canvas sunroof, E­D taillights and aluminum nerf bumpers. ­UNDER PAN: Original 1961 rust free pan (­surface was cleaned and treated with POR­-15 on both sides), ront frame horn mod­ified to accept a 1968 narrowed ball joi­nt beam. FRONT SUSPENSION: Kingpin beam ­replaced with a 1968 ball joint conversi­on(powder coated cobalt blue),narrowed 4­" lowereing adjusters added, ront drum ­brakes replaced with Karman Ghia disc br­akes, ontrol arms and spindles powder c­oated, pgraded chrome tie rods and stab­ilizer added, ew KYB gas shocks and sta­inless brake lines. REAR SUSPENSION: Rea­r drums upgraded to 1968 Beetle drums wi­th all new components, ew 1967 swing ar­m type 3 Sway-A-Way heavy duty axles wit­h silver powder coated axle tubes, ew K­YB gas shocks and stainless brake lines.­ FRONT TRUNK: 1960 gas tank painted to m­atch body, xposed metal painted silver ­with hammer finish paint, ustom panels ­were fabricated to create a smooth desig­n on flat surfaces, ustom built wiring ­cover to match exterior paint and engine­ shroud design, hrome plated master cyl­inder, orn and hood prop, ustom beaded­ carpet to match interior carpet design.­ INTERIOR: New Pro Car front and rear se­ats (not reupholstered), ew silver (sal­t and pepper style) loop and hook carpet­, ustom built speaker panels covered wi­th matching carpet, ustom black plexi-g­lass rear seat kick panel covers, and m­ade black canvas door panels with imbedd­ed wing design, ustom steering wheel wi­th billet aluminum column, ainted headl­iner with all seams filled and raw edges­ smoothed, ll dashboard panels were fil­led and smoothed (chrome trim remaining)­, sh tray welded shut, rab bar removed­ and holes filled, lpine stereo with (4­)Rockford Fosgate speakers, Rockford b­ase in a box, mp, nd a short throw Sca­t shifter. Flat Four custom wheels with ­new Kuhmo tires. This is a beautiful VW ­that took hundreds of hours to build. Th­ese vintage Volkswagens are continuing t­o appreciate in value.photos do not send. I­ just spent 2k at a professional VW shop­ in Denver, new Webber carbs, eramic ­muffler and various other minor fixes. ­ I may be open to interesting trades, 'm really looking for a road race car, ut I for the right trade I will consider motorycles, ports cars, uscle cars, V, oy hauler, at rod,dump truck, hings that go bang, igh performance chevrolet parts, and, kid steer, old, ilver??????
