1969 Toyota FJ40

Just a nice old original FJ40. Everyone who appreciates these classics that pass on the highway go out of their way to say nice rig or wave. This one is not show quality nor something I would drive 50 miles between cities; however, it is driven all the time here there and everywhere around town and to the next city over with just slipping clutch after a while. A very fair description of its normal operation is that you can get in unlock it and roll down the windows no problem, put the key in, pump the gas a couple times start it right up and hold the gas for a bit till it warms up and then you're set, it will idle all day like a champ. Push in the clutch and 3 on the tree wiggle a bit and drive around where ever all day, when it comes time to brake just use a little leg muscle and it will stop no problem, no pumping like some people say the older ones always require. Otherwise it doesnt wander but its not super tight but tracks down the road so nice and easy. Powerwise it is slow, you could never win a drag race with it but it has the torque that is surprising how it climbs hills when other engines would be bogging.
Specifics:Drive Train- The whole thing is original. I Put new filters, oil, spark plugs, rotor, cap. New brake master and wheel cylinders which I think are adjusted pretty good so rolls nice but stops without pumping the pedal like many others in blogs claim is necessary with these old fj's.
Interior- All original, front seat recovered looks great, rear heater not working, rear jump seats have nice duct tape upholstery which actually functions and looks pretty dang good. Only rusty spots are in back where it just needs some angle iron strips welded in and painted to be like new and solid. Floor is little surface rusty but treated to stop its progression. I personally did not want to paint anything that was not necessary to keep it as original looking as possible. Headliner is not installed.
Exterior- I wire wheeled and painted a good amount of the frame and wheel wells that needed a little spiffing up. And painted the bumpers so now it looks like brand new in those areas. Underneath is greasy and paint peely but not a rust disaster. Just like I did in the wheel wells and outer frame if it is wire wheeled down treated and repainted it will be like new. The top has been sanded and gel coated, but its just bumpy looking needs to be sanded and buffed but is smooth and strong. The Paint is just original and has plenty of defects but just has the "good ole 4x4 rig look" Previous owner did some welding patch panels that are not great but didnt bother me I just did some blending paint to make it look decent enough and again,, it fits with the overall good ole 4x4 look.
Tires are pretty new bfg's, has the rear tire spare holder and new matching spare.
I am sick about having to sell this thing, but health problems at a young age in the family have made it necessary. I absolutely love the way this is just a nice original rugged survivor example of these beautiful rigs. So please dont look into this FJ with the eye for a $100k restored Chevy Nomad, I have been more than descriptive of its condition "theme".
