Description:

1949 Packard Super Deluxe Eight Chrome

This is a 1949 Packard Super Deluxe with Custom trim. It was one of the high end models of that year, sporting rare custom egg crate grills on front and back as well as custom trim, hubcaps and Packard Cormorant Swan Hood ornament. If you research 1949 Packard models you will see this is a great one.The car was brought down to the metal and repainted it's original black color about 10 years ago. There is picture documentation in a book that's included in the trunk. The paint is still in excellent condition with a few minor flaws & scratches that are not too noticeable unless pointed out. The body is super straight with no bondo or waves in the metal or paint. If you are familiar with black paint jobs you know how hard it is to hide imperfections. There is no rust or dings on the body and the entire car is solid. The engine is original, numbers matching straight 8 that runs but ran better before car was stored. Needs carburetor work due to stale gas. Car has a 3 speed column shift manual transmission. Automatic was not available until 1950. The interior is all original and will need to be redone as well as the rug and the headliner. The steering wheel is a rare new old stock black beauty that cost a thousand dollars by itself. All the inner window frames are in great shape and in the car. Dashboard is nice and complete. Radio has been removed but is included in trunk. The bumpers although straight and solid will also have to be redone. The swan has been re-plated. Moldings are all nice and not dented. The glass is all good except for the back drivers corner widow as seen in picture. The Tires are original type nylon with huge white walls that have good thread and hold air with no leaks. I also took a picture of the original spare also included in trunk. Trunk is solid with no rust as well as all floor boards. Hardware from doors as wellas the carburetor breather and other parts not seen are in the trunk.
As of now the car runs but cannot be driven. The car rolls easy and will need to be flat bedded to its destination. Car has been garaged kept and is currently indoors at a shop in South Carolina. The Packard was sent to South Carolina where the car is located now for interior work but unfortunately my dad passed away and I do not want to keep the car so yes the (CAR IS LOCATED IN SOUTH CAROLINA) The shipping pick up address Location isTazs Hot Rods and Fabrication 1559 Lynwood Drive Lancaster South Carolina 29720.
