1969 Oldsmobile 442 442

I found this Cutlass S convertible in the Chicago suburbs where a pair of brothers had been restoring it before one passed away. They had painted it incorrectly a Chevy Red 52 so I spent the past 2 years creating a 442 Tribute around the original 400 engine and driveline for my wife who had a 442 just like this one in high school. The interior and exterior chrome was refreshed at the time I had the car painted the correct Oldsmobile Red 52 last April. The hood stripes are properly painted and clear coated. The grille and emblems are correct. Trumpet exhaust and bumper cut outs are correct. The power top fits and works beautifully, and comes with a matching white boot cover. This car is 85%, here are someadditional items left for the project person to finish for 100% accuracy: Chrome strip wheel-well, door and fender trim, Rallye style wheels (up to 1975 14" will work.) Car has a granny gear under it to help traction in the snow (was a Chicago car - has NOT seen rain or snow since restorations.) It was an AC car, though not there now, 442 emblems on glove box, remote right side mirror. The transmission, engine, exhaust and driveline were refreshed 3 years ago.Our family enjoyed driving our Tribute car on a road trip from Chicago to our place in North Carolina last summer without issue. The vehicle drove beautifully through the Ohio valley, zero issues in the Blue Ridge mountains where I thought the carb might give us problems - nope, drove like a champ. Then through the Carolina foothills all the way to the beach - trouble free and an awesome memory for my 12-year old son's journey with Mom & Dad.We have a different bucket list item to tackle now and hope the next user is able to make their own memories in a vehicle that brings a smile to your face the moment you hear it start.
