I have included approximately 45 pictures of this vehicle to my advertisement. If you have a standard dial-up connection it may take a few minutes for all of them to load.I would rather oversupply you with information than to simply post six pictures and three lines of text as most sellers will.

Please be patient, as it will be worth the wait. You may have to hit "reload" on your browser if all of pictures do not display properly. Please scan down the page using your down arrow key...

I am a frequent seller here on Ebaymotors.com .I have a great deal of experience with Mercedes-Benz automobiles. I grew up with the, as both of my parents drove them. I have now bought and sold in excess of 400 of them myself. It is my opinion that the older Mercedes were built to a higher standard than the newer post 2010 models. This is also the opinion of my MB certified mechanic whom I employ to repair my cars and ready them for sale. You just can't find a better car than the old Mercedes Benz models.

Mercedes invented the automobile (Carl Benz 1899, and they invented the diesel passenger car in 1936. This Unimog represents nearly sixty years of continual Unimog production.

This vehicle remains the workhorse of Europe. The Unimog is one of the most versatile vehicles ever to be produced. The applications for such are limitless.

I have bought and sold more Mercedes Benz vehicles than I care to remember.

I have been buying and selling Mercedes Benz automobiles for 25 years now. I have never had the opportunity to present itself to obtain a Unimog, so when one came availible to me, I immediately secured it.

This is a low mileage 1971 model that recieved a full overhaul at the Mercedes-Benz Unimog factory in June 1985.

This Mog will most probably be rather expensive, but please don't ever forget that you get what you pay for. I learned this the hard way.

Soft top is new and was installed two weeks ago. As you can see, hard doors are easily removed, as depicted.

As you can see, the custom aluminum bed can haul your precious cargo quite easily.

The prior owner had this bed custom fabricated for the truck.

Owning such a machine makes everyone smile!
Windshield easily lowers in the event that you need to take quick aim!
Top down operation is preferred this time of the year.

I have owned close to 5,000 automobiles in my day. This unimog easily is the most unusual autombile that I have ever owned. The operation of it was foreign to me, and I actually found myself reading the owners manual to figure her out! This Unimog has six forward gears and two reverse gears. It took me approximately two hours to acclimate to learning how to drive her. And I have owned many exotics, but this Unimog is certainly a breed unto itself.

If you want to arrive at the hunting club with something that NO ONE has, this is it!

Forget a Toyota Landcruiser, forget a Hummer H1, if you want to go off road, this is the end all, be all.

The original upholstery is in pretty nice condition.

I have been around this star for my entire life. I grew up with both of my parents driving Mercedes-Benz automobiles. I was driven to school in one. At age 3, I even had the privilege of driving my parents 220SE through the kitchen of our home. I feel quite comfortable with these cars, and you will too!

For those of you that are not familiar with the star, this represents MB's pursuit of excellence on Air, Land and Sea.

Tires are Michelli, and still have plenty of tread.

Here's the data plate. You might notice that the engine was overhauled at Mercedes-Benz in June of 1985.

Venerable Mercedes M110 straight six runs well. Prior owner upgraded the distributor to a petronix unit and upgraded the coil. The original Zenith carburator does not appear to have a functional choke, so you have to prime the accellerator pedal a few times prior to starting. Once warme, up the engine starts every time. The exhaust system has been recently replaced. The Mog has been in my driveway for a few weeks and is not leaking any fluid on the driveway . The brakes are somewhat spongy at 1st start up and I have to pump the pedal 2-3 times when I first start driving her, but she stops reliably.I have driven the truck at night, and I can verify that the headlights work. The truck did not have turn signals when I got it, but I ordered new ones from Mercedes and installed them. The wires are there, but I did not hook them up. I can verify that the gauges appear to work. Prior owner added a tachometer, which is also working. I have driven this truck recently at speeds of approximately 50mph.

The clutch and transmission seem to be good, one has to acclimate to driving this beast. My 1st 10 minutes behind the wheel were comical, to say the least, and I'm a car guy.

After an hour or so, I finally mastered the beast and made her mine!

I have driven the truck around the city of Memphis a bit, it makes for a fun beer run truck. People stare with utter dismay when I am out in her.

This is an absolutely fun truck. By no strech of the imagination is this a perfect truck. It's an unrestored 1971 vehicle. Please have realistic expectations of what that entails. Yes, you can take it hunting, yes it runs well, yes its fun. Got it? Feel free to ask me any questions!
