Description:

1971 International Harvester Scout 800B

Awesome head turner, runs and drives great, not quite complete but would make a daily driver right now. Very clean body no rust was an original So Cal truck and has been in New Mexico the last 15 years. It has a 12 valve 5.9L Cummins out of a 92 Dodge, the engine is bone stock and has never been turned up, the cover is still on the fuel screw. The donor truck had 110k miles on it.The transmission is a 727 3 speed out of an 89 dodge, the transmission was rebuilt in the fall of 2015 (recites available)only has about 1000 miles on the rebuild. The transfer case is the NP205 out of the 92. The axles have been upgraded to HD Dana 44's with the front having a disc brake conversion. Power steering has been installed using the Cummins power steering pump and a steering gearbox from a 74 scout. It has about 8 inches of lift and will run 37's easily. Right now it has 35" Cooper STT tires on 20 inch Dick Cepek wheels. On the inside it's all very clean with original rubber flooring being very good shape, it has new gauges and a tuff box center console installed. It has had a sound system installed with a deck hidden in the console along with 2 6x9" infinity speakers and two 12" Rockford Fosgate subs with a 1000 watt amp. The underbody and frame have been totally gone over with bed liner. This Scout has not had a frame off restoration but with all the new suspension and drivetrain components mostly everything has been replaced. All the lights work, turn signals, brake lights, dash lights, it all works. All the glass is perfect with no cracks. That's most of the good, the stuff that needs completed is a front drive shaft for 4x4, and a cable type shifter for the transfer case. That gets your 4x4 working. The seats could use redone they have seat covers and are comfortable, but under the covers is not in the best shape. The driver's door window crank broke, the window works fine but i have vice-grips for a handle. The heater needs reinstalled. The speedometer needs hooked up. The windshield wipers are a little erratic with thier operation. The paint looks good from about 10 ft its not perfect, there are some chips and dings and it wasn't the best paint job to begin with, it's not a showtruck but it's still pretty nice. The tires are not new as you can see in the pictures. That's most of it. It needs a few things done and I believe it could be a 30-40k dollar Scout pretty easily. I am having another child this fall and don't have the time or funds to really complete this truck. There is not much left but I don't have the desire to work on it having a family now. I'm sure I forgot some things but that's most of it.Here is a video that should cover it just go the video on youtube. https://youtu.be/Uy9DQxrF8wAContact me if you have any questions or if you want to check it out in person before the auction ends, I will be glad to help.
