Additional Details:

Thank you for your interest in this highly optioned 1970 Cobra which as you probably know with its original 429 SUPER Cobra Jet engine is the fastest production Muscle Car Ford ever produced (faster than all the Shelby Mustangs, the Boss 429 Mustang, and second only to the 1966 427 A.C. Cobra (of which only 2 were ever actually factory produced so it really was not a production car and like the Corvette was not considered a Muscle Car) which is part of the reason why after easily beating out the Hemi ‘Cuda and LS-6 454 Chevelle, the 1970 Cobra won the Motor Trend Car of the Year Award for 1970 and for good reason.

This is a very special car so please read the following information carefully because this is not a plain old Torino, Cobra, or Fairlane. This is one of those cars that few people understand what it is or even know exists.

This isthe 1970 Ford Torino Cobra and this one came with an extremely rare an desirable factory engine option that does not appear on much of the 1970 Ford sales literature or car magazines of the time. The three lesser engines; 429 Thunder Jet (360 horsepower), 429 Cobra (370 horsepower), or 429 Cobra Jet (370 horsepower w/ram air) routinely do, but not the special high performance 429 SUPER Cobra Jet engine option.

After playing with Corvettes and muscle cars for more than 42 years, it is finally time to “thin the herd”. To reduce the size of my private Corvette and Muscle Car collection, I am planning to part with at least 5 of the 24 rare cars that I own.

One of these cars is the super rare 1970 Ford Torino Cobra offered here, well below market value at only $165,000 specifically to facilitate a quick private sale by owner on the "first one with the money gets it" basis.

This is the first time this spectacular Cobra has been offered for sale in more than 27 years.

If you want to learn about one outstanding, rare, and powerful muscle car, you need to take the time to read this listing. Chances are you have never seen one of these before.

This beautiful Cobra is perfect for the big-block high-horsepower MUSCLE CAR kind of guy or gal, but unlike the 1966 427 A.C. Cobra, this Cobra is easily controllable by any average driver (walk softly but carry a big stick).

This is a stunning example of one of the fastest production cars ever built. This is a very powerful car, designed for the adult driver. If you appreciate power, grace, agility, and beauty, this is a car you will truly enjoy and treasure.

This is a true factory muscle car in every sense of the word. Certified Ford Muscle, from the pinnacle of the muscle car era, with top dog powertrain and the most desirable color. This Cobra can be the prized centerpiece of any Hi-Po Ford or Muscle Car Collection.

When not roaring down the highway or prowling the streets looking for its next drag race victim, this piece of Muscle Car history has obviously been garaged all of its life.

This is a very special Muscle Car so please read the following information carefully because I go above and beyond to give an accurate and honest description. Most of the things I list here would be left out of most other seller's descriptions but I include them for accuracy and because I would want the same done for me.

Just to be clear, three terms you need to know (and that are further defined in detail below) are Ram Air which is the trough-the-hood SHAKER Hood Scoop induction package, Drag Pack which is primarily racing suspension package, and 429 SUPERCobra Jet which is the special high-performance version of the 429 engine.

Ram Air could be added with any of the four optional engines. While entirely separate option packages, the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet engine option and the Drag Pack option were always ordered together (you could not get one without the other). If the Drag Pack was ordered, the engine was upgraded to the top engine option of the available four, the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet engine.

Everyone and his dog claims to have a SCJ car, but after closer examination, you will discover that most of are not and never were429 SUPER Cobra Jet cars. The car advertised herein is the real McCoy with absolutely no doubt whatsoever.

Engine

The extremely rare 429 SUPER Cobra Jet engine in this Cobra IS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE that the Ford Motor Company factory installed in this Cobra on May 20, 1970, at the Lorain, Ohio Ford Assembly Plant. NOT some “numbers matching” replacement engine someone put in the car 48 years later.

The 429 cubic inch displacement SUPER Cobra Jet (429 SCJ) engine was the no-nonsense, pure performance, top engine option offered by Ford in 1970, that when combined with "J" Code Ram Air, and Drag Pack options simply blew the doors off the Chevrolet and Mopar cars that were brave, foolish, or ignorant enough to go up against a true 429 SCJ car for money (or worse yet racing title for title for “pink slips”). Just ask them and they all vividly remember the night they fell victim to that Cobra….48years ago as if it was yesterday. Not only did they get beat, but they got beat badly!

While the “Advertised Horsepower” was only rated 375 horsepower, we all know better (and why the manufacturers did this).

Keep in mind that it is not the additional 5 or 15 rated horsepower rating that is important, rather the actual SUPER Cobra Jet engine option – we all know the engines were far underrated to get past government regulators and insurance companies. Actual dyno tests prove the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet actually put out nearly 500 horsepower (493.6 horsepower @ 6000 rpm and 503 ft-lbs torque @ 4600 rpm).

To spite their assertions (many claiming to be factory SCJ cars), most 1970 Cobras you see advertised came with either the lower performance plain base-engine 429 Thunder Jet (360 horsepower), 429 Cobra (370 horsepower), or 429 Cobra Jet (370 horsepower w/ram air), many of which had Air-conditioning, which is another dead giveaway, because like any true special high-performance Muscle Car, AC was not allowed on the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet equipped Cobras.

While the 429 Cobra (370 horsepower) and the 429 Cobra Jet (370 horsepower w/ram air) engines came with the mild street hydraulic camshaft (Ford # C9AZ-6250-A), the high compression 429 SUPER Cobra Jet came with the same high-lift long-duration solid lifter camshaft used in the lower compression Boss 429 engine (Ford # D0AZ-6250-D) and many other racing engine components the lessor 429 engine options did not have (see below for more details).

The "N" code 429-4v "Thunder Jet" and "C" code 429-4v "Cobra" are not nearly as desirable as the "J" code 429-4v "Cobra Jet Ram Air", and none of those three are nearly as desirable or valuable as a Torino Cobra that came with the "J" code 429-4v "Cobra Jet Ram Air" and with the most powerful 429SUPER Cobra Jet (375 horsepower) engine and Drag Pack options like this car did.

Many people mistakenly associate the J-code with theSUPER Cobra Jet engine option. The J code in the VIN number simply means the Cobra came factory equipped with the Ram-Air shaker hood scoop. In fact, the majority of the J-code Cobras did NOT have the special high performance 429 SUPER Cobra Jet engine. This Cobra is one of the rare few that DIDcome factory equipped with both factory Ram-Air shaker hood scoop and the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet engine with the Drag Pack! The rest were the lower performance plain old 429 base-engine Thunder Jet (360 horsepower), 429 Cobra (370 horsepower), or 429 Cobra Jet (370 horsepower w/ram air).

Another fact that uninformed people who are unfamiliar with these cars commonly misrepresent is when they ignorantly claim that the special high-performance SUPER Cobra Jet engine is just simply the addition of the Drag Pack option (oil cooler and special suspension) to a car having a Thunder Jet, Cobra, or Cobra Jet engine (or are trying to pass their non-SCJ car off as such), when the fact is that he SUPER Cobra Jet engine itself is far more and completely different internally than any of the three other available 429 engines.

The ultra-rare SUPER Cobra Jet engine was loaded with special high-performance components that the other three engines (Thunder Jet, Cobra, or Cobra Jet) did not have. This confusion flame is further fanned by journalists who do not know the factual subject matter included here and by ill-informed people who incorrectly misrepresent 429 base-engine Thunder Jet (360 horsepower), 429 Cobra (370 horsepower), or 429 Cobra Jet (370 horsepower w/ram air) as being SUPER Cobra Jet as being SCJ cars that never were. If we were to believe all the advertisements, there are more SCJ cars on the road today than Ford built in 1970. The car advertised herein is the real McCoy with absolutely no doubt whatsoever.

Many journalists do not even know the difference between a plain 429 Cobra Jet and the special high performance 429 SUPER Cobra Jet, but that does not stop them from spewing misinformation. As an example of incompetent journalists spreading misinformation, one writer included a picture of an alleged SCJ Cobra in the poorly written error-laden article recently, noting the oil cooler and totally ignoring the fact that the car had an air conditioning compressor and NON-SUPER Cobra Jet Air Cleaner. Since NO SUPER Cobra Jet car EVER had factory air conditioning, obviously, someone had added an oil cooler to a NON-SCJ car, but it clearly fooled that ignorant journalist, who was apparently too lazy or stupid to do his own due diligence, even after the fact was brought to his attention. He should have fact-checked his article before embarrassing himself in public (like one of the Barrett-Jackson commentators does on a regular basis).

This fabulous Cobra came factory equipped with and still has its original factory installed engine which is the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet (a.k.a. SCJ), that is the special high-performance SUPER Cobra Jet version of the 429 Cobra Jet consisting of a 4-bolt mail engine block, higher 11:1 compression forged aluminum pistons, solid lifter mechanical camshaft, special heavy duty “football” connecting rods with special cap screws, heavy duty precision balanced crankshaft, flywheel, and harmonic balancer, high volume oil pump, advanced-design free-flowing high riser intake manifold, special cast aluminum valve covers & bright engine dress-up, special high performance cylinder heads with larger ports and large canted valves, header type exhaust, and much more. Even with the street-friendly 3.91 rear axle, this top engine option was no street engine.

The 429 SUPER Cobra Jet power option package also included the Drag Pack which added components including the factory installed engine oil cooler, special competition tuned racing suspension, extra heavy-duty front stabilizer bar, extra heavy-duty front and rear springs, extra heavy-duty shock absorbers, dual exhaust, and etc., none of which came with the plain 429 base-engine Thunder Jet (360 horsepower), 429 Cobra (370 horsepower), or 429 Cobra Jet (370 horsepower w/ram air).

If you are looking for a 429 SUPER Cobra Jet Cobra with air conditioning, forget it, because AC was never offered with the 429SUPER Cobra Jet engine option.

Likewise, all 429 SUPER Cobra Jet equipped cars were factory equipped with one of two rear axle ratios. ALL 429 SUPER Cobra Jet carscame with a rear axle code of "V" or "W" on the door data sticker ("V" code for 3.91:1 rear axle ratio or "W" code for 4.30:1). Any Cobra that did not come factory equipped with either a 3.91 or 4.30 rear axle ratio, CANNOT be a real 429 SUPER Cobra Jet as these two ratios were the only ones allowed with the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet.

New for 1970, the Ram Air option was revised to include a new "shaker hood" where the scoop was attached to the top of the air cleaner assembly, and protruded through a hole in the hood. The 'shaker' nickname came from the fact that it vibrated, or 'shook', when the engine was running.

A 1970 Cobra could have been ordered with several engine options and that while the Cobras equipped with the standard 429 engine came with stock suspension, the Cobra's that were factory equipped with the 429SUPER Cobra Jet engine option also came equipped with the other special high-performance equipment included in the Drag Pack option.

Transmission

Most of the time a person would want a 4-speed transmission, however with street tires, the special C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission was preferred for street racing in theCOBRA because with the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet, the special C-6 Select-Shift transmission equipped Cobra was much quicker in the 1/4 mile (13.63 vs. 13.99 for the 4-speed - and then only if the 4-speed driver did everything just right), whereas the average driver could easily run half a second faster with the special Select-Shift version C-6 transmission.

One main reason was that the special C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission's stall-speed torque converter would help minimalize tire spin at wide open throttle during launch from dead stop, whereas the 4-speed car would have to either slip the clutch feather the throttle (or both) to get traction, which depending on the skill of the driver, the 4-speed would cost a minimum 4-tenths of a second (professional driver) and usually as much as a full second in 1/4 mile elapsed time with an average driver(see actual performance documentation below).

Performance

1970 Cobra 429 SUPER Cobra Jet was basically a factory race car that Ford discouraged selling to the general public.

This engine set-up was capable of launching this intermediate size vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in only 5.8 seconds, and running the quarter mile in 13.39 seconds at 106.96 mph straight from the factory (see performance documentation below).

In the fall of 1969 Motor Trend ran an article titled "a date with three strippers" that compared the 1970 Charger Hemi 426, 1970 LS6 454 Chevelle SS, and the 1970 Cobra 429 SUPER Cobra Jet. The Ford went on to win the Motor Trend Car of the Year Award for 1970.

Motor Trend wrote of the Cobra, "The weight obviously helped traction, as it was fairly easy to accelerate away from a standing start with only a modicum of wheel spin”.

Motor Trend also tested a 1970 Cobra with a 429 SUPER Cobra Jet, 4-speed and 3.91:1 gears, and resulted in a 5.8 second 0 - 60 mph (97 km/h) time, with a 13.99-second quarter mile at 101.0 mph (162.5 km/h).

Super Stock and Drag Illustrated bested that time, in their test of a Cobra equipped with the 375 HP 429 SUPER Cobra Jet, C-6 automatic, and 3.91:1 rear gears and were able to run the quarter mile in 13.63 seconds at 105.95 mph (170.51 km/h), however, this was after the carburetor had been modified (improved power valve, larger primary and secondary jets).

Super Stock and Drag Illustrated then fitted a pair of slicks to the same Cobra and ran a super quick 13.39 seconds at 106.96 mph (172.14 km/h).

This awesome Cobra is in the top 10 Fastest Muscle Cars list produced by Mopar Muscle Magazine(of course, they found 2 rare tests in which 2 Mopars and 5 Chevrolets that ran ever so slightly quicker 1/4 mile times).

The 1970 Cobra 429 SUPER Cobra Jet placed second in the "Super Ford" listing of the Ten Fastest Factory Fords, (January 1988) second only to the 1966 Cobra 427 and followed closely by the 1969 Boss 429. The following times were recorded; 1966 Cobra - 12.20 at 118 mph, 429 SUPER Cobra Jet Cobra 13.63 at 105 mph, and the Boss 429 ran 13.68 at 106 mph. The times were recorded during the actual production year by: Car & Driver - 1966 Cobra, Super Stock – 429 SUPER Cobra Jet Cobra and Boss 429. See a copy of the actual list in the picture section of this listing.

Rarity

The 1970 429 SUPER Cobra Jet Cobra is so rare that there has not been even one with all factory installed options this Cobra has go through any Barrett-Jackson, Mecum, RM (Rob Myers), Russo-Steele, or eBay Auction, let alone one that still has all of its original interior, engine, and driveline intact.

Several plain old 429 base-engine Thunder Jet (360 horsepower), 429 Cobra (370 horsepower), and 429 Cobra Jet (370 horsepower w/ram air) have sold, but absolutely zero original engine documented 429SUPER Cobra Jet (375 horsepower) Cobras.

Keep in mind that it is not the additional 5 or 15 rated horsepower that is important, rather the actual engine option – we all know the engines were far underrated to get past government regulators and insurance companies, especially engines like the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet.

While some claim their car to be 1 of 1 built because it was the only one with a rear window defroster, factory installed cup holder, 6-cylinder engine, or unpopular paint color that does not make it desirable or valuable, no matter how rare. This Cobra is Blue Chip investment grade vehicle both because of how extremely rare it is and it having come factory equipped with all of the most desirable options and color combination.

The majority were laid to rest years ago by way of drag strips, salvage yards, trees, car thieves, and so on. Very few still exist and most are not of this quality and none as original as this one.

Remember that in the 1970 sales literature (for example see http://www.torinocobra.com/images/High.Perf.Data.Book_pt1.JPG), Ford marked the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet engine package in the Cobra specifically to drag racers, knowing that a win over the weekend meant sales on Monday, even of the lesser Torino models. As a result, naturally most 429SUPER Cobra Jet cars were purchased solely for drag racing and never survived that. The ones that did lost their original engine and drivetrain as normal expendable parts that wear out during the normal course of racing use and upgrades. The cars themselves were often cut up for the installation of tunnel rams, roll cages, larger tires, narrowed rear ends, altered wheelbase chassis, etc.. Remember there were thousands of local drag strips in 1970, and each seemed to have at least one rich (or factory sponsored) guy that could afford a 429 SUPER Cobra Jet that nobody could beat.

In 1970, only 502 Cobras came with the Orange paint and black deluxe interior with high-back Bucket Seats this one has (not all of the 502 had the Floor Shifter and/or Center Console) and very few of those (I am told less than 20) came with the 429 SUPER Cobra Jet Engine. Factor the rest of the desirable factory installed options, like Ram Air Shaker Hood, Drag Pack, 3.91 ratio Traction-Lok rear axle, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Console, Tachometer, AM Radio, black Turin knit high-back Bucket Seats, Color Keyed Racing Mirrors, Argent Styled Steel Wheels, F70x14 Belted Tires w/ Raised White Letters, this Cobra is most likely one of only a handful highly optioned Cobras ever produced and this one may be the only one still in existence. One thing is for sure, this one is the most untouched original of the 20 built.

Value

While the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is and always has been a good reference for current market value of late-model cars like a 5-year old Toyota Corolla or Ford Taurus, for more than 35 years now they have not been accurate when appraising rare muscle cars older than 1972, simply because they cater to their membership (new car and truck dealers who deal exclusively with late-model vehicles) and as such monitor sales through dealerships and more often wholesale dealer auctions.

For example, the NADA formula just guesses and makes up numbers from thin-air since they have no actual sales tracking of cars like this or they would not include pricing for phantom 1970 Torino Cobra options that never existed like they do with 302/220 HP, 351/300 HP, 428 CJ/335 HP, 428 SCJ/360 HP, 428/335 HP, and even pricing for a 6 Cylinder engine version.

Obviously, the NADA database does not include any actual sales of 1970 Torino Cobras with factory installed 6-cylinder engines (the minimum engine available in the 1970 Torino Cobra was the 429) and as such none of their pricing data has any validity whatsoever. The NADA does not even know that this car was manufactured, let alone what it is worth today. Only a rank novice would even consider NADA a source of information when it comes to collector cars older than 1972.

The value of thisCobra is easily more than double that of the NON-SUPER Cobra Jet engine (and no Drag Pack, competition suspension, or performance rear axle ratio) Grabber Blue car, that only had a bench seat (no high-back bucket seats or center console), manual brakes (not power disc brakes), with just a “numbers matching” (i.e. non-original replacement engine) and sold for $110,000.00 including buyer commission in http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=436&aid=223that was recently restored and repainted for resale (I am told by people who saw the car in person that the restoration was mediocre at best).

Likewise, the value of thisCobra is easily 25 to 30% more valuable than the 1970 Torino GT (not even a Cobra) that was restored for resale, with just a “numbers matching” (i.e. non-original replacement engine) and no Ram-Air SHAKER hood scoop, that sold for $181,500.00 (amount the buyer paid - $165.000.00 plus the 10% buyers commission) inhttp://www.russoandsteele.com/past-collector-car/1970-Ford-Torino-GT/2369 ....not to mention the horribly dreadful maroon & white color combination.

While many are advertised to be SCJ cars (even on the rosters of major auction companies), upon closer inspection they turn out to be just regular CJ cars (or that fake that has been sold and resold several times lately).

I challenge anyone to show me a real 1970 Cobra 429 SUPER Cobra Jet of equal quality, originality, and options as this one has, that has sold for less than $230,000.00 in the last 5 years.

Cars like this one are so rare that it may very well be that none have sold publicly. As is often the case when rare cars like this are offered for sale, word spreads, parties make contact, communicate privately, and a private transaction occurs confidentially without the rest of the world knowing it.

The best gauge of market value of this ultra-rare Cobra is that it will naturally follow the value of other comparable cars in its class and peer group including the far more common 426 Hemi powered cars like the Hemi ‘Cuda & Challenger, Charger Daytona, and Road Runner Superbird, Chevrolet cars like the LS6 Chevelle SS454, Yenko 427 Camaro, COPO 427 Camaro, Nickey 427 Camaro, ZL1 427 Camaro, L88 Corvette, and other Ford cars like the Boss 429 Mustang, Shelby GT350, Shelby GT500, etc.

Just look at a few comparable sales recently (Mecum sale prices do not include the additional 10% commission buyer paid) (I did this research 5 years ago and the market value has risen since then)::

$209,000 - 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 (Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2012 Lot 961)

There was not a single 1970 COBRA - 429 SUPER Cobra Jet in the auction fields, which is not unusual considering that a real 1970 Cobra 429 SUPER Cobra Jet of equal quality, originality, and options as mine is far rarer than the cars I listed above.

For your convenience, I have provided the web addresses and phone numbers of the 25 largest Muscle and Collector car auction companies in the world below. NONE of them has EVER sold a real 1970 Cobra 429 SUPER Cobra Jet of equal quality, originality, and options this one has.

Don’t take my word for it, review their past sales on their websites and/or phone them yourself. Demand to see the Marti report, verify with Marti Auto Works that the report is not a forgery, ask the auction house for a VIN certification, and verification that it is not a “re-bodied” vehicle, especially on recently “restored” cars.

Please do not be deterred by the low feedback count on this account, which we created for selling to simplify our record keeping (we have never sold on eBay under any other user ID). Bid with confidence as we have had the same eBay user name and verified I.D. for buying since 1998 with more than 2,200 total positive eBay feedbacks (sellers can accumulate large feedback numbers selling 10-cent widgets, but it takes years to accumulate 2,200 feedbacks as a buyer) and 100% positive feedback rating from Sellers that we bought from in flawless transactions (most from back when sellers could have posted negative). We are eager to build positive feedback for this new eBay seller account and are dedicated to fast, smooth, and Flawless-Transactions. Information to Consider Before Your Purchase

About Us: We are not dealers, just a husband and wife clearing out an accumulation of “spare stuff” for the first time after 39 years together. As eBay buyers ourselves, we avoid listings with vague details or incomplete descriptions and knowing that any other wise buyer will do the same. We offer an honest and accurate description of all items (most of which we bought new) to the best of our ability, including our own original digital pictures of the actual item you will receive. We strive to provide you the same information we would want to know if we were the buyer. If we have missed something in the description that you would like to know, please ask and we will be glad to accommodate. All items are in our possession, will be packaged very well for shipping, will ship immediately after payment clears, and arrive exactly as described in the listing.

Buy with Confidence: By participating in one of our listings, you have the confidence that your transaction from start to finish will be a smooth flawless one. One big advantage of buying from us is that you have the opportunity to check out our long positive eBay feedback record and other background information through our websites to get to know us in advance, rather than being stuck with gambling on trusting an anonymous trading partner (often in an undisclosed location, with inaccessible contact information, or contact phone number). We have had the same eBay username and verified I.D. since 1998 with more than 2,200 positive eBay feedbacks earned through flawless transactions, same physical address since 1973, same bank account number and telephone number since 1977, same business location and spouse since 1979.

Our Reputation: As full-time self-employed small business owners since 1979, having successfully completed thousands of long-distance high-dollar transactions from a bricks & mortar location with customers worldwide since long before the Internet came along, we understand the importance of accessibility, clear communication, and the concerns buyers face. We have always been richly rewarded by our repeat customers since we know that if we do it right, they will tell two friends, but do it wrong and they will tell everybody! It takes a lifetime to earn an impeccable reputation like ours and we know that it only takes a moment to destroy it. This is why we have always dealt with our customers the way we would want to be treated. Naturally, we have applied these same principals to every Internet transaction since we came online in March 1998.

Our References: We are always willing to supply credible references that are easily VERIFIABLE through local business, government, and law enforcement upon request. We hope you will start with viewing our outstanding feedback record. With our eBay accounts combined, more than 4,249 satisfied people have already voluntarily taken the time to leave feedback for us, 100% of which is positive. Since statistically only about a third take the time to leave feedback, it is safe to assume that there are easily another 8,498 people (12,747 total) who are just as satisfied but did not take the time to post feedback. Believe me, unhappy people will almost always leave negative or neutral feedback, of which we have almost none, for good reason.

Questions: Although we do our very best to provide the most complete information possible in the description of every item that we list, we are not experts on every item we have for sale, and cannot possibly presume your knowledge level or familiarity with the specific item listed or anticipate your needs or intended use for the item, so we cannot be responsible for any questions that you may not have resolved to your satisfaction BEFORE you purchase from us. To eliminate any possible misunderstanding, please do not assume or take for granted anything not specifically stated in the listing description. If you have questions, you can phone us at 217-762-3999, or simply go to the “Questions and answers about this item” section right below this listing description and click on “Ask a question” link. We will reply as promptly as possible.

Terms: While we are a private party selling our own personal property, where applicable, the terms of this transaction shall be in strict accordance with the Sales Information & Policies we established in 1979 for our business and as stated herein. Unless otherwise expressly stated, all items are sold in untested used condition having wear, tear, and/or deterioration, without any express warranty or any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for any intended use. All items are sold "as is" and "where is" by a private owner, with no expressed or implied warranty, representation, or guarantee. Only what is specified in the description and/or pictured is included. All transactions are FOB/FCA our location in Monticello, Illinois 61856. Since this is a private transaction, there is no sales tax.

Binding Contract: Buyer represents and warrants that Buyer has read, understand, and agrees to all of the terms and conditions applicable to this eBay listing for the item Buyer is bidding to purchase or Buy-It-Now. These include any applicable terms of sale, warranty terms, statements of the condition of the item Buyer is purchasing, and the Seller's return policies, all of which are contained or referenced in this listing for the item Buyer is bidding to purchase or Buy-It-Now. Buyer understands that his/her bid is a legal and binding contract subject to these terms and conditions.

Other Payment Options: As per eBay rules, for some eBay categories, we also accept bank-to-bank transfers (also known as bank wire transfers and bank cash transfers), Money 0rder, Cashier’s, Personal, Company, Certified, or Electronic Check drawn on banks located in the USA and International Postal Money 0rders honored by the United States Postal Service. We will also consider receiving payment through one of the following eBay-approved online payment services: Allpay.net, CertaPay.com, HyperWallet.com, Fiserv.com (Checkfree.com), Nochex.com, Propay.com, Skrill.com (Moneybookers.com), and Xoom.com (and perhaps in the near future Paymate.com.au), but please ask before you bid or buy-it-now if you wish to use one of these services as certain terms and conditions may apply. As per eBay regulations, the above other payment options are offered only for items in the following categories: eBay Motors - Cars & Trucks, Motorcycles, and Other Vehicles & Trailers; eBay Motors Parts & Accessories - Engines, and Engines & Components; and Real Estate. Due to the recent epidemic involving counterfeit negotiable instruments, all payments by money 0rder, check or other bank draft will delay shipping 12 business days for clearance, after deposited into our account (not including Saturday, Sunday, or holiday). Bank wire transfers inside the USA must be via FedWire and from outside the USA via the SWIFT wire service (the same services most banks use). If credit cards are used, it is agreed that no charge-backs are allowed for any reason. We also offer interest-free layaway and since it would be a violation of eBay rules for us to list other well-known point-to-point money and wire transfer services as payment options, we can say that we have never refused to accept a payment through any method a buyer has offered.

Buy-It-Now Listings: Unlike an active auction where a buyer enters a proxy bid and may not be online to complete payment the moment a listing ends, Buy-It-Now listings end as soon as buyer completes the buy-it-now. Since a buy-it-now bidder is online when he or she ends the listing with buy-it-now, we require that buyer complete payment immediately. Failure to do so will result in the item being considered unpaid and dealt with accordingly (see “Unpaid Items” section below). If you have already committed to a buy-it-now and for any reason are unable to complete payment right away, please contact us immediately to discuss this.

Layaway Terms: Minimum 25% non-refundable deposit required. Balance under $1000 30-days same as cash, $1000-$2000 60-days same as cash, $2000-$3000 90-days same as cash, $3000 and up custom terms available. Any money or other consideration is received as partial payment and will be forfeited if balance due is not paid as agreed within the allotted time. Layaways that exceed the above-specified periods and layaways with custom terms are subject to 1.5% service charge per month on any unpaid balance from the date of sale. The minimum monthly payment is 20% of the purchase price unless we agree in advance to custom terms. Written layaway agreement must be signed in advance and deposit must be received within 72 hours.

Escrow: Provided Buyer sets it up and pays all associated fees, with our prior approval, payment for any item we sell can be processed through eBay's approved escrow service www.escrow.com.

International Buyers – Please Note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what (if any) these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - USA and International government regulations prohibit such behavior. While we have to declare the value at exactly the purchase amount and not as a gift, there has been a trend lately for international buyers to have a friend or relative in the USA purchase an item, and then send it overseas to them as a gift, which is perfectly legal.

International Payments: Payment for international transactions totaling more than $1,000.00 USD accepted by Wire Transfer only. Any item that is classified as restricted or prohibited for the destination country at http://pe.usps.com/text/Imm/immctry.htm is shipped at Buyer’s sole risk and must be paid for by Wire Transfer. Occasional exceptions are made with copious identification and proof that buyer owns the account being used for payment, to the satisfaction of our bank.

Shipping: No hidden fees, we only charge the actual cost of shipping with delivery confirmation from zip code 61856. We take pride in everything we sell, have extensive experience with shipping, and personally package every item we ship extremely well ourselves to ensure safe arrival to your destination. Sometimes it takes longer, but normally we ship items within one business day after full payment has cleared, often the same day. We reserve the right to hold any shipment until we can confirm full payment has cleared. We will ship to APO/FPO, U.S. Territory, and Post Office Box address provided any delivery confirmation as required herein is available to that location or if payment is by wire transfer. For your protection, to ensure that we are shipping to the person who set up your account, we only ship to the address shown on the PayPal transaction details page, or in the case of non-PayPal payments, to the address shown in the eBay end of auction confirmation email and/or eBay Sales Record page.

Shipping Calculator: No hidden fees or “handling charges” are concealed in the shipping calculator in our listings (and only the true weight & dimensions are factored). If a shipping calculator is included in this listing, it is intended only to provide you an estimate of shipping cost. The total amount to be added to the winning bid or buy-it-now price will be the actual cost of shipping at published rates as determined by the type of delivery service used, weight, size, destination, and all required tracking, delivery confirmation, and insurance fees.

Shipping Options: We strive to provide you with the lowest cost mode of transportation and multiple shipping options from which you may choose. If you have special shipping needs, please contact us before you enter a bid or buy-it-now and we will try our best to accommodate. For all PayPal transactions totaling $250.00 USD or more, buyer must select and pay for a shipping service that provides detailed online tracking documentation with adult signature proof of delivery confirmation signed by the buyer. For all other transactions, buyer may select any service providing standard delivery confirmation that can be tracked online to their destination. Online tracking, delivery confirmation, and insurance requirements are for our protection and yours, ensuring that you receive what you pay for.

Combined Shipping: We are happy to combine shipping if you purchase more than one item from us. Combined shipping cost is the actual cost of shipping based on the total combined shipping weight, package dimensions, and delivery destination at carrier published rates. No hidden fees or deceitful surcharges! Since we normally ship immediately upon receipt of payment, if you wish to bid on or purchase other items from us, please go ahead and pay for your first purchase as usual and simply notify us to hold shipping until all your purchases are complete. This way we can adjust the shipping fee on invoices for your subsequent purchase(s) and often eliminate additional shipping costs altogether.

Insurance: If the cost of insurance is factored in the shipping rate quoted in this listing, it is done so at the actual cost (no hidden fees) and clearly disclosed near the top of the listing. Delivery in described physical condition is not guaranteed without buyer purchasing shipping insurance. To prevent fraud, we document every order shipped via photos, video, and/or a confidential mark strategically placed in an inconspicuous location on all items.

Delivery Confirmation: Third party commercial carrier delivery confirmation shall be sufficient evidence that any shipment has been delivered to buyer, whether or not acknowledged by buyer. Buyer must provide a secure environment at PayPal confirmed delivery address location, or make special arrangements with the carrier to pick the shipment up in person (held at Post Office or carrier terminal for recipient pickup).

Local Pickup: No handling fee for local pickup, which we welcome and encouraged by appointment at our home or shop in Monticello Illinois (Halfway between Champaign and Decatur Illinois, 1 hour east of Springfield Illinois and 2 hours from Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis). Full payment must clear as referenced above in advance or be paid in cash (U.S. currency) at time of local pickup. Buyer must provide valid current government-issued photo identification matching buyers’ registered contact information on file with eBay and/or PayPal and sign a statement of items received.

Storage Fee: $20.00 per calendar day for any item that weighs more than 70 pounds or that has any length, width, or height dimension greater than 24". Five (5) days free storage included with every sale. Storage fee does not apply to items purchased on a pre-arranged layaway, provided the payments are made on time as specified above and all other layaway terms and conditions are met by buyer within the allotted time.

Freight Shipping: Cartons measuring longer than 108”, more than 165" (length of longest dimension + 2x width + 2x height), or weighing more than 150 pounds (70 pounds for residential delivery address) must ship via motor freight, freight charges collect, FOB/FCA Monticello, Illinois, with insurance and adult signature delivery confirmation. Since we have accounts with Yellow Transportation, Con-Way Transportation, (and D & D express for delivery inside Illinois), the same discounted rates we receive pass the same savings on to the buyer. Buyer is also welcome to make his own transportation arrangements and we will provide coordination with buyer's carrier for pickup.

International Shipping: As we have for more than 39 years, we ship internationally to destinations all over the world. Since we have no way of knowing in advance where a buyer is located, buyer is required to know their own country's import restrictions, rules, taxes, available delivery services, and eligible payment methods that meet our requirements as stated herein before purchasing from us. If required, buyer is responsible for clearing the item for export from the United States of America, import to the destination country, and compliance with any additional rules or regulations imposed by any country whose borders the shipment will cross. If an item is restricted or prohibited from importation to Buyer’s country by any government regulation, Buyer is solely responsible for arranging transportation FOB/FCA our location in Monticello, Illinois 61856. In some countries, buyers will be required to pay additional customs brokerage fees, duties, taxes, tariffs, or additional local delivery fees imposed by foreign governments, shipping companies, or third-party freight forwarders or handlers upon receipt of shipment and in addition to the transaction amount. If regulations require us to prepare export documents, buyers outside of the USA will be assessed an additional $20.00 document charge. International buyers must add $.01 handling fee for each $1.00 of total payment (unless payment is by wire transfer or mail). The value of all items being shipped will be declared at exactly the purchase amount and not as a gift. Buyers outside of the USA must select and pay for a shipping service that provides detailed tracking information and adult signature proof of delivery confirmation that can be tracked online. We also need the recipients contact phone number for the shipping documents. Since international shipments usually take longer than domestic deliveries and customs clearance sometimes further delays the delivery, to prevent misunderstanding or negative feedback, international buyers must acknowledge the estimated time in transit for the selected shipping service with their payment or through the eBay message forwarding service. If the cost of insurance is not specified or added by the shipping calculator, please wait until you receive an invoice from us through eBay to pay for your international purchase. Since online tracking and/or full value insurance is not offered by some shipping services to all international destinations, shipping outside the USA will be restricted to those carriers offering these services if required by the terms contained herein.

Damage in Transit: Delivery of the item in good condition is the responsibility of the carrier. In the unlikely event an item is damaged in shipment, buyer will be responsible for notifying and filing any damage reports required by a shipping company. Should any carton arrive in damaged condition, immediately bring the condition to the delivery person's attention and open the carton and inspect the contents while in his presence. If the contents are damaged, immediately notify the carrier of damage and preserve all contents and original packing materials for inspection. Do not return items damaged in shipment, as doing so will void the shipping insurance. Contact us with all the details of the damage immediately. We will contact the carrier and file a damage claim and they will contact you to coordinate an inspection and/or retrieve the shipment. Claims for goods damaged in transit can take up to six weeks. As soon as the carrier completes the inspection process, pays the claim, and/or returns any undamaged portion of the shipment to us, we will replace the item if we can, and if not, we will issue an immediate refund.

Privacy: Information provided to us will never be provided to any third party - unless you give express permission to do so. We respect your privacy and do not partake in the practice of selling or distributing buyer information for any reason. We will never use your personal or business information in any way that violates your privacy. When you provide any information to us, it will only be used in such a manner as has been made clear to you, with your acknowledgment and prior permission.

Money Back Guarantee: If you do not receive the item as described in this listing, we will offer you a full refund upon return including all shipping charges. Any other item purchased will be subject to shipping charges in both directions plus a 25% restocking & inspection fee. We do not accept returns or cancellations because you failed to read and/or understand the item description and/or ask questions BEFORE your purchase, changed your mind, or committed to purchase the wrong item, nor do we have a price matching policy.

30-Day Return Policy: Due to our marketing and inventory procedures, all sales are final. We do not allow cancellations or accept returns because buyer failed to read and/or understand the item description and/or ask questions BEFORE a purchase, buyer changed mind, or committed to purchase the wrong item, nor do we have a price matching policy. However, returns are allowed for a 30-day period on any transaction where payment is through www.escrow.com. After receiving the item, you must contact us through the open escrow you created for the transaction at www.escrow.com and we must receive the item back within 30 days of the escrow opening date. All other return policies as stated herein apply. Any returned item will be subject to shipping charges in both directions plus a 25% processing, restocking, & inspection fee. Failure to communicate with us and allow us a reasonable opportunity to resolve any possible issue or misunderstanding BEFORE opening a case, opening a return request, leaving negative or neutral feedback, or low Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) stars will immediately negate this return policy. For additional terms & conditions, please see the "Money Back Guarantee" section above and "Feedback" section below.

Standard Return Policy: Since we no longer have supervision or control over its care, treatment, maintenance, or modification once it leaves our possession, items are not eligible for return. Therefore, unless otherwise stated on this page, we will allow no returns, refunds, or exchanges and all sales are final. If allowed by the terms expressed in this listing, all returns/exchanges must be in the original sale condition and packaging, receive our prior approval, receive a Return Authorization Number (RMA #) from us in advance, and be shipped prepaid with insurance and tracking within one business day following date received by buyer (same shipping time as specified in this listi
