Description:

1967 Ford Ranchero

Although there were a fair number made of this one year only body style, very few were optioned out to include the XL badge. Of those very few indeed included the high performance 390 V8, plus the GT hood, AC (now missing) and front disc brakes. This set up was rated by Ford at 335 hp.
I bought this car from the second owner about 25 years ago. The transmission was totally rebuilt about 300 miles ago by "Gears"(Lehi, UT), who specialize in muscle car transmissions. It is SMOOTH. I bought a "fresh 390" which I had Clegg's in Orem, UT (a well respected name in the State), rebuild using the original GT heads, about 200 miles ago. When I got the rebuilt engine back from Cleggs, they informed me that it was actually a 428 (no visible difference). It sounds SWEET coming through the new dual exhaust! They bored it out and installed a cam that is a competition upgrade, but not wild. Cleggs said it should now generate 375 HP. I also installed a new larger aluminum radiator, new upgrade fan, electronic ignition, new belts and hoses, new battery, virtually everything in the engine compartment is new. Body, paint was completed in 1994, so it could use a refresh, but the interior, completed at the same time is still new. Parts included: I have an original working AM radio, black leather snap on bed cover, new kick plates for interior (carpeted ones are ugly), new arm rests, new seat belts.
Needs: Tires still have new tread, but are several years old. There is a short in the steering column causing the horn to honk more after you apply it. Chrome is fine, but could use a refresh. There is some rust bubbling in the bottom of the rear quarter panel on passenger side and on the roof above the passenger door. New floor boards were installed and wheel wells taken care of in 1994. The seats, headliner and carpet are all still new, but the driver seat needs some track adjusting. I had a new heater core installed, but there is a problem with it and the heater fan. Needs windshield wipers. I have tried my best to describe this car accurately so you won't be disappointed.

So, why am I selling it? I borrowed against it to pay some taxes and fly my step son and his family out for the holidays from Fort Bragg; thinking I would have money from another source to pay it off in a few months. Actually, it hurts like hell, but the delight on my wife's face was worth it.
I already have an offer of $9,000 which is why my starting price is $9,100.
