1965 WM300 Power Wagon Brush Fire Truck $30,000 or reasonable offer.
A true barn/fire station find.
I am the second owner of this 1965 Power Wagon and purchased it from the original fire department which kept it in a heated and climate controlled garage for its entire life – we continued this practice as well after we purchased the truck. It was meticulously maintained by the fire department’s full time maintenance staff and was in use until we purchased the vehicle. I have then continued this care and it is still precisely maintained.
This truck is as original a Power Wagon can get and is completely and entirely rust free. There are scratches and marks as you would expect from a service vehicle, ut it shines right up and is very presentable (you have to love how fire fighters maintain their vehicles). The truck has won several awards and even took first place at a major show (overshadowing a pristine frame off restored Power Wagon) because of its originality. A car is original only once. I have owned a number of classic cars and this truck gets more attention and pictures taken than any other vehicle I own or have owned. It is simply a crowd favorite – especially since it is one of the rare participants with a sign of “Please touch.”
The Power Wagon is as solid as a rock; starts right up and can cruise easily, afely and for long periods of time between 50 and 55 mph. Because I have owned other Power Wagons I am assuming that the truck was ordered with specific gearing to reach that high of a top end speed. It is great to have a Power Wagon that can actually go on the highway as we drive it, ot trailer it, o all the car shows we attend.
Everything on the truck works including the water pump, ights, iren, ignals, adio, tc. The truck needs nothing to immediately drive and enjoy. I have added a couple of additional lights which are period correct but not original to the truck. I added a pair of Unity lights to the back and a pair of PER LUX 200T driving fog lights to the front bumper. These lights have been tested and work but are currently not connected. I can remove them if the new owner does not want them.
Additional photos can be seen at the following flickr link below. If the link does not work cut and paste it into your browser.
12 volt electrical system with Optima battery
Lights, iren, peaker system all controlled by switches and radio located on dash.
Tires are like new with no cracking or dry rot. When I purchased the truck from the fire department they informed me that they were recently replaced and balanced.
Truck comes with original and fully functional heater box.
Front windshield regulator has been rebuilt by Vintage Power Wagons with stronger steel gears. Fully functional as well as all windows and side vents.
New PER LUX 200T driving fog lights added to front of truck, eriod correct but not connected.
Unity Flood lights added to back, ested but not connected.
Skid unit is fully functional with 200 gallon water tank; pump is run via 13hp Vanguard motor.
Transmission is a synchromesh.
Truck is 18' 7" long and 89” or 7ft. 5 high to the top of the emergency light. I have a standard garage and the truck just makes it in with clearance on both ends and the door closed.
I am willing to help with the loading of the truck for shipping. We are located in Ashburn, A 20148 which is a suburb outside of Washington D.C.
Truck has no rust anywhere
Truck is being sold as is with no expressed warranties and a $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours after purchase.
Please feel free to ask questions or schedule an inspection.
