Here's one you don't see too often. I bought this from the original owner. He ordered it when he was in the service stationed in Italy. The mileage is correct and original. All numbers matching. This car is still wearing all of it's original paint. Runs and drives well but hasn't been on the road in many, many years. In or around 1990 the roof of a storage unit the car was in, caved in on it. Damage to roof in picture. Also had damage to driver's door. Study pictures carefully. I think it the roof skin could be saved.
We filmed the purchase and discovery of this car for Graveyard Carz. It will be featured in an upcoming episode during season 11.
The Good:
  • Original Paint
  • Original Bench Seat Interior
  • Original Engine and Transmission
  • Original Title
  • Original (mint) Broadcast Sheet
  • Original Fender Tag
  • Original Warranty Brochure
  • Original Owner's Manual
  • All Original Paper Work
  • Engine runs strong
  • Transmission shifts great
  • Clutch works great
  • All original under the hood except for :Carburetor, Master Cylinder (original one comes with the car), Spark Plug Wires and Distributor Cap
  • Original wheels with Polyglas tires. (tires aren't original to the car but correct)
  • Original Headlamp Bulbs
  • All lighting works great
  • No overheating
  • All gauges work
  • Nearly zero rust. Trunk Floor perfect.
  • Original spare tire, never on the ground.
  • Original jack
Bad:
  • Roof skin needs worked or possible replace.
  • Drivers door has damage at the rear, very repairable.
  • Lower 8" of the car shows a lot of rock chipping that has turned to surface rust. Doesn't NOT appear to have any more than surface rust. Has small hole in drivers floor that needs patched. Rest of the floors and sheetmetal are super solid.
This is a very rare example of a 1971 Super Bee. It has low miles, one owner and has been indoors all of it's life. It is not a new car and would need to be restored to be like a new car. It could also be fun to spend some time tinkering on things and just cleaning it up. How many original paint Super Bees are out there that shine like this one?
