This is a 1985 Dodge Ram 50 Turbo Diesel, 4x4. This truck has the reliable 2.3L Turbo Diesel manufactured by Mitsubishi. The engine code is 4d55. This truck makes good power and has no blow by. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago by a very reputable builder but it is unknown haw many miles are on the engine. The truck has a push button glow plugs. The original system is not working. It has a difficult time starting in very cold weather so one of the glow plugs probably needs to be replaced. The injection pump needs a rebuild. It drips about 2 or 3 drops per second. The transmission has a difficult time down shifting into second and to first. This truck has a hydraulic transmission like those found in the 4 cylinder 2 door Montero's and Dodge Raiders. The truck has auto locking hubs and the 4wd works great. The truck comes with two spare transfer cases. The main issue is the rust in the rocker panels and the drivers side floor. The truck could benefit from a donor cab or donor truck. This is a great little motor that runs strong. The truck has federal emissions not California emissions.
