Pro mod custom camaro SS big block 454

Price: - Item location: Barberton, Ohio, United States
Description:

1968 Chevrolet Camaro

This Camaro SS is a clone in the biggest sense of the word for a custom build, it started as a nearly rust free Texas 67 Pontiac Firebird bare shell with only minor rust found under the vinyl top area . Purchased as an empty shell, no drivetrain, frame, interior, rear end, and glass. While a parts car I couldn't pass up a shell in as good a shape in N.E. Ohio and set upon a custom build, not as a firebird but a camaro. Starting with a rebuilt 68 camaro frame with tubular control arms and BBC coil springs I dropped in a late model 454 backed with a four speed transmission and stainless headers. The 10 bolt rear axle with 3.37 gears was a left over from another build and works good with late camaro rear disc brakes. Body work consisted of 68 camaro doors, quarter panels, tail panel and new roof. The cowl panel was replaced along with drivers toe board and dash top due to previous owner cutting them out to use on his car. While I love the 68 camaro body I never cared for the bread box taillights and did a custom led tail light treatment to the rear along with customizing a 69 spoiler into three pieces and custom back up lights. The interior is where I wanted some updated comfort and style where I modified a 69 firebird dash with digtial gauges first but changed later to autometer and equus gauges. Seats are late model leather with drivers power seat. Also did power windows, power locks and trunk with the contols mounted in a late model custom camaro center console, Although this is a carburated engine I installed a electric fuel pump in the tank since I was planning on doing an LS drivetrain but decided on the big block. Wheels on the car are 18 inch front and rear, front size was needed to accomidate the corvette 13.355 inch rotors and calipers with custom brake adapters and are backed up with dual disc brake master cylinder and hydro boost. I could go on and on about everything on this build but that would take a while so I would say that you view the additional photots provided in the link below of the build of this car, If you have any other questions or would like to schedule an inspection of the car please contact me. https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArIQVPKovj9BgRxbV7Fw8oDsB5t9?e=l1Yend
