1968 Chevrolet Camaro

1968 CAMARO KANDY APPLE RED
With great sorrow and something I will regret it later, I am selling my Camaro
It is a 1968 Camaro that I started to restore 10 years ago. It took 2 years to finish.
The Car was a very solid car from PA and I still have original paperwork from where and how much.
It started life as a Butternut Yellow, 6 banger.
The Car now:
Paint:
Custom Kandy Apple Red over Silver Paint job with House of Kolor paint.
Primer-wet sand, primer-wet sand again, sealer, 2 coats silver, 3 coats red, 3 coats clear, wet-sand, 2 coats flow clear, wet-sand, polish.
Black Striping across hood and down fender and door, is painted on, with Official GM Stencils
Engine Compartment and under hood is painted in Color changing Cromalusion Paint and goes from gold to bronze to black to Dark Purple, depending on light and viewing angle.
Under carriage was all POR-15 in black and was underside of car and all interior areas.
Wheels are painted in Stock era Rally Silver and has Original Caps from Car.
All stainless is new or re-done NOS and Optional Trim on Doors.
Engine, Transmission and Rear:
350 - Stock Bore! Yes, that's right, Stock bore. It's still a baby.
Totally rebuilt with new Pistons, rings and gaskets.
Cam is PBM-Erson 140104
Head are 3991492 Fuelie Double Humps
Headers with Flowmaster Exhaust System
Electric Exhaust cut-outs to annoy everyone (controlled via Inside switch)
Transmission is a 2 Speed Powerglide, Manual Valve Body shift Kit, so its a manual shift only. Start out from stop in Drive and it will jump gears. Its meant to start out in low and shift to second. Was rebuilt with new torque convertor, 1600 Stall
Shifter is stock Chevy Console shifter.
Rear end is Chevy 10 Bolt Posi with 3.08 gearing now. With the car comes a brand new set of Richmond 4.11 ring and pinion gears.
Interior:
Black with just about all parts replaced, except panel skins and seats. New cushions were installed in 2 seats.
New knobs, instruments, radio, carpet, headliner, etc.
Center Console has a gauge cluster with additional gauges, oil, water, volts, Flammer
Line lock Button on Shifter Handle.
Extra Stuff:
A Box of Camaro Parts, set of Headers
All Manuals, Books, Etc
Other Items:
I kept the driving part of the car pretty much stock. It has Power Steering, NO Power brakes and still runs the Drum Brakes all the way around. Stock Springs in front and Air Shocks on Back (they don't hold air, hose issue).
Line Lok for those smokie Burn outs.
Was an A/C Car but I removed it and the A/C Box on Firewall. Inside controls are still in place. I do not Have original box or A/C parts, they were not on car when I bought it.
Tires are brand new.
Exhaust Flame kit (safe kind with coils and switch) Plugs NOT Installed (you would have to make a pipe to clear back of car) (Flames were to close to gas tank)
The Honesty Part:
I did the car years ago and some of it is starting to show in places.
The biggest Issue is the Drivers door. I had to re-paint it and was in a rush. I didn't let it dry enough and after 3 years the primer underneath sunk down and left it with sand scratches that are now visible. 10 feet away, no. Up close yes. (See Picture)
Drivers side near Rear window has a crack in seam and a small piece peeled. (I filled the seams in Solid) Duh! Camaro's body Torque and it cracked. (See Picture)
Small areas of Bubbling on both Rear Quarters on very bottom and inside 1 door area. (See Picture)
Under carriage has oil blow back from hose leaks, drips, etc. Its a Freaking Chevy That I drive, they all leak, except for trailer Queens. This NOT! I built it to drive it.
A/C Slide in dash broke but since there is no A/C in the car it's not needed.
One of the Body bushings broke (rubber Part) and will need to be replaced. Still in place but it split.
That's about it. I am selling it because I'm done with cars for a while. Yes, it needs some work if you want it back to car show winner, but as a good driver ready to go and still turn heads more then a plain Jane Camaro, this is it.
Any questions, please ask. It breaks my heart to sell it but I'm not driving it that much anymore and hope it finds a home for someone who wants a Camaro without the 30K plus price tag
