Description:

1977 Chevrolet G20 Van

1977 Chevrolet G20 Beauville Shorty Van. Factory equipped 400 Small block. 77,500 original miles. Power steering, power disc brakes, AC, Tilt wheel, Turbo 35, 12 bolt posi traction rear with 4:11 gears. Van was a Alabama barn find. A van/muscle car hybrid it's a true collectible muscle car for the whole family. This van has the top of the line ZM8 Beauville Trim package.

Motor is a professionally built 408 with 490 miles on build. .40 over 400 built by a well respected local race engine builder here in Charleston. Estimated at over 550 hp. 12 .5 to 1 pistons, World product heads, Competition 3 angle valve job, Manley Titanium valves, Competition Cams Extreme Energy 288/294 roller cam and lifters, springs and retainers, roller rockers, screw in studs with guide plates, ARP fasteners, Edelbrock RPM performer Intake, New Holley Aluminum polished 750, New MSD Street Fire HEI Ignition, MSD wires, new Holley high volume mechanical pump, tall ball milled valve covers, SFI flex plate, extra capacity oil pan, Hi performance timing pointer and balancer . Line bored and balanced. Machine work andheads were done by Charleston's best quality machine shop. With the World Products 76cc chamber heads and the cam overlap reducing the compression of the 12.5 to 1 pistons to around 10.5 to 11 to 1, the motor will run on 93 octane but I run 93 with VP Fuels Octanium booster. Headers with 3" in/dual 2.5 inch out mufflers with 45 degree 3" adapters ready for 4- 36" 3" pipes to compete dual side turnout exhaust system. Heavy duty radiator. Motor runs at 160 degrees and carries 60 to 80 lbs. of oil pressure. It has been broken in properly with break in oil, conventional oil and is now ready for full synthetic oil if buyer prefers.

High Perf. motor is not the original but I have number matching original short block that will come with sale if buyers desires.

Transmission is a Stage 2 Turbo 350 with a Boss Hogg 2600 Converter. Unknown miles on transbut shifts great.

All new calipers, brake pads, rotors and wheel bearings front and rear brake shoes, drums and hardware as well as new master cylinder. New battery.

Period correct American Racing 200S 15x10 wheels with new Cooper Cobra 295/50/15 rear and 255/60 15 front with 490 miles.

Front and rear seats, door panels, and dash are mint. Original custom wood grain steering wheel, Bosch Tachometer, Oil pressure and Temp gauges. She's quipped with a line lock but I've never used it. Sony CD with 4 speakers and wired for amp with heavy duty amp wiring kit. Interior was completely custom insulated and glued, screwed, caulked and sanded marine plywood lined under the old school shag carpet. The rear seat also has a pullout built in bed and I have a custom screen kit for the pop out rear windows and the front windows for camping. Undercarriage is rust free. Color is Cordova brown. Paint looks good but is not perfect. It sat covered for 12 years and I had it professionally buffed and waxed and it looks great but not perfect. If your buying it as a collector you'll want to paint it over the next couple years, but it's fine as is until you're ready. Cool wooden cabinets with Vette emblems on the doors and matching stained spindles and cup holders with built in 70s bakelite ashtrays that have never been used. Van has never been smoked in. Skull license plate, valve stem caps, antenna, and lighter. Cool old school Chevy Van mats.

I have all original documentation including factory build sheets and sales contracts and a large envelope of all receipts from previous owners as well as owners and repair manuals.

The bad. It needs a AC needs compressor replaced and one hose repaired. Compressor and line are not currently attached to motor but have everything including all brackets. 1 Quarter size bubble on each front door, silver dollar size front of pass. wheel well, 4 or 5 small spots behind pass. wheel. I'd says it's 96% rust free. Will need shocks. 2 wheel center caps missing $9.95 online. Firestone stripped one of my lug studs on the passenger front while balancing my tires, I have no idea how. Heater core started leaking about 2 weeks ago and I looped it off but haven't driven since it happened. Comes with new heater core which needs installed.

I am the third owner and it's always been adult owned. The original owner was an older man who bought the van to sit in while his Vette was on display at car shows. I'm 57 and built this van to keep for myself. I love this van. It has great bones. These classic vans are gaining in value like classic muscle cars have in the past and a 77 G20 Shorty with factory 400 and such low mileage it's going to be extremely collectible in the future. I believe with it's factory specs, it's drive train and it's condition as well as the fact a custom van is a one off vehicle unlike traditional muscle cars will make this beauty one of the nicest keeper vans forboth enjoyment and investment available.

Only reason for selling is to take care of Father in laws failing health.

This van is extremely fast and I highly recommend it not be bought for a minor unless your kid is ready for Street Outlaws. When you press the go pedal button you'd better have it pointed in the right direction because it gets there in a hurry.

I have described it as well as I can and I greatly value my feedback rating so if you have any questions feel free to contact me for more info. I'll answer any questions I can. I prefer Text 843-437-8009. I have this up for sale locally and must reserve the right to cancel the ad at any time due to that fact.

I'm glad to work with your shipping company and can have it at abusiness address for pick up if it helps. If you don't have a shipper I recommend USHIP. I've had great luck with them. Van is in a safe location and is ok for as long as needed for shipping arrangements.

Thank you for looking and good luck bidding. I look forward to doing business with the winner and passing this beauty on to someone who appreciates it and will give it the care it deserves.
