The Austin Healey Sprite originated in 1958 and first went into production in 1959. It used a tuned version of the famousA seriesAustinengine, displacing 948cc's. The Mark I version known in Britain as the "Frog Eye" and in the US as the "Bug Eye" sprite was an open roadster with a detachable top and side curtains.
Over the next 10 years, upgrades included larger engines, roll up windows, a folding storable convertibletop, front disc brakes, rack and pinion steering along with several suspension and drive train upgrades.
This beautiful 1967 Mark IV was the final design - with the engine now displacing 1275cc's producing 65 roaring horsepower! The car is painted in British Racing Green, has an all new interior including new seats and a new convertible top. The body is entirely rust free and completely sound. The engine was removed and overhauled and the clutch was replaced. The engine compartment was completely cleaned and repainted. All engine accessories were repaired or replaced as needed. The brake system was gone through with new front rotors and calipers, and new rear shoes. Front shock absorbers are new.
The car runs, handles and stops flawlesslyand is a real kick to drive. It turns heads where ever it goes, top up or top down.
Paint is in great shape as you can see in the pictures. Please review the images and feel free to ask any questions you like. Car has a clear California title and is ready to drive home. Will assist with arranging transport at the buyers expense. Enjoy!
