1950 Willys Jeepster

This 1950 Willys-Overland Jeepster has been registered with members of its current owner’s family since 1953, and it is powered by an F-head 161ci Hurricane inline-six mated to a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Finished in burgundy and gold over red vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with a retractable soft top and side curtains, rear fender steps, a wood dash panel, and a Continental push-button AM radio. Reported work in the last year included servicing the carburetor and brakes and replacing the tires, water pump, fuel pump, and radiator. This Jeepster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean California title. The seller states that the car was repainted in the late 1990s in its current shade of burgundy with a gold-finished grille, hood, and windshield frame. Along with a V-shaped grille that was introduced on 1950 models, this example features a wood-trimmed beltline, and a retractable soft top and side curtains are installed along with rear fender steps. Painted steel wheels wear Willys-logo chrome hubcaps and Hankook Optimo thin-whitewall tires. A non-matching spare is mounted out back. The seller states that the brake system was serviced within the last year. The split front bench seat and rear bench are upholstered in marbled red vinyl that extends to the door panel inserts and sun visors, and bright red carpets are fitted. Appointments include a Continental push-button AM radio, pop-out vent windows, and a locking glovebox. The two-spoke steering wheel wears a perforated rim cover and frames a wood dashboard panel housing an 80-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The speedometer and fuel level gauge are not working, the five-digit odometer is stuck at 822 miles, and total mileage is unknown but under 100 miles on a rebuilt engine. The F-head 161ci Hurricane inline-six was equipped with a replacement water pump, fuel pump, and radiator in the past year according to the seller. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The engine runs well, shifts three on the tree easily, and there is no smoke when driving.
