Offered is a rebuilt beautiful mostly original 1951 WillysM38 Army Jeep. Serial #15304. Date of delivery 3-51. A very early M38….the5304th one to roll off the assembly linein Toledo.

This jeep was rebuilt once before by the previous ownerabout 25 years ago. But made to look civilian - see last photo. I rescued it from that owner and restored itto military specification, minus the water fording system. Everything else is like original including 24volt electrics and paint scheme and canvas. This Jeep was well preserved for the most part, the previous restorationdid a decent job with some minor floor repair and some body work on thedriver’s side by gas tank. I pulled thebody off and cleaned most of the failing body work up during this latestrebuild and replaced the hood and rear tailgate that were too far gone. For a 72 year old jeep it looks pretty damngood.

Just about everything has been gone through on this jeep andvarious parts have been sand blasted, cleaned, repainted, or replaced with new,NOS, or reproduction parts.

Chassis and Drive Train: Frame and drive train were in goodshape only minor parts needed replacing. The drive train, including tranny and transfer case were drained, cleaned, repainted, and all fluids replenished, some new e-brake hardware, andnew cable, new engine mounts, new brakes including all lines and hoses, newmaster cylinder, four new wheel cylinders.Rebuilt steering box and drag link and new steering wheel, original rearbumperettes, authentic pintle hook. 5 authentic Mansfield 7.00x16 NDCC tires oncleaned and painted 16" original rims. (four rims are military and spareis civilian) The tires are older but have plenty of road life in them – justnot at high speed on the highway. Thejeep also has period correct Sears aftermarket front locking hubs.

Engine: Previously rebuilt correct MC L-134 engine - runsreal strong and smooth, no smoke, slightly noisy valves but not too bad, nomisses, correct professionally rebuilt Carter YS M38 Carb, civilian fuel pump, new manifolds and new gaskets, all new exhaust, original 24 volt ignition, including generator and regulator that are working fine and charging the twonew batteries. Correct older militarywiring harness all working correctly.(minor re-wire on rear lights to give you two brake lights instead ofone like original) New hoses, newerbelts, new temp. gauge, new oil pressure gauge, original fuel gauge and newsender, new fuel lines, new distributor cap, new military waterproof plugs andwires.

Body: Original 1951 military M38 body; original fenders, original windshield with new glass with new seal, replacement hood andtailgate, original driver’s and passenger’s seat, but new rear seat frame. Original fuel tank – cleaned and repaired byprevious owner. New top bows, bracketsand hardware, new canvas top and seat covers (Top is Beachwood Canvas), periodcorrect shovel and axe, original correct 1952 dated gas can, new head lightbulbs, blackout lights, rear taillights, all original data plates and originalbody tag all with original serial number on them.

Misc: Vehicle is wired for 24V, new speedometer, all lights, all switches work properly exception as noted above for brake lightenhancement. The trailer plug is notconnected to the wiring – needs new pigtail.Original water fording system was not installed. Has proper vacuumwindshield wipers installed and working. Has front and rear lifting shacklebrackets but doesn't have the shackles but they are readily available on theweb.

New Speedometer has a few miles on it (<10) unknown whatactual mileage is, regardless of odometer reading this Jeep is better thanmotor pool, almost like it just came off the assembly line.

The only thing left to do with this vehicle is have fundriving it and possibly outfit it with some Korean War Era paraphernalia.

Vehicle is sold as is where is. Outside of USA sales onlyupon previous agreement. Shipping costsare responsibility of buyer. Will work with buyer to arrange shipping.

Deposit via Paypal, balance in cash or Paypal upon pick upor prior to shipping. No checks, no trades, no scams.

The "Buy It Now" price is realistic price, thereserve price is very close to that. This Jeep will sell as have all myprevious restorations, don't let it slip away. A true M38 - a very rare jeep.
