1940 Willys Coupe

1940 Steel Body Willys Coupe. Brought home by Fred Texieria the car was made into a drag car and raced for the next four years by the father and son team. The car and team were very successful to say the least, as documented by Car Craft in the article Wine Country Willys. The car was described as the fastest and quickest B/Gas car 1966 67 68 and 69, holding the NHRA records for both ET and Speed all four years.
The car was extremely successful multiple NHRA Winternational wins as well as Hot Rod Championship Class Champion. Boxes of photos and magazine articles. Car can be found in B and M advertisements and numerous period magazines as well as modern publications.
The car was stored after being retired and restored to award winning condition in 2011.
Body is all steed with steel doors and steel trunk lid, the interior is just as it was with the "nut Knocker" line lock, 426 Chrysler Hemi Hilbourne Injected Aluminum "K" Dick Landy heads, Fresh from Boyd Machine, aluminum rods and a "Clutchflite B and M" transmission, going back to a quick change rear. Right down to the vintage and period correct Sun Tach, this car is ready for any vintage event. The car has Candy Brandywine paint that is flawless as is the rest of the car. Car starts and runs as it should.
