Rebuilt 1951 M38
1951 Willys M38 Military
“Take a look at this completely rebuilt beautiful 1951 Willys M38 Army Jeep. Serial # MC21962
This jeep was rescued from a gentleman in Huntsville Alabama in 2014. It underwent a frame off rebuild. I’ve owned over thirty jeeps and have rebuilt/restored approx. 25 of them and have sold them successfully on e-Bay. This Jeep had been moderately usedduring it’s active life and was inneed of rebuild. The frame and drive train were complete but needed some minor repair work. The engine is a correct MC engine that was just professionally rebuilt by Sigafoos Machine shop in Easton Pa. I had to replace the tub with a reproduction tub, but manyof the other components are original Willys. The jeep has its military components de-commissioned – i.e. water fording gear removed, and 24 volt converted to 12 volts, has professionally rebuilt military Carter YFcarburetor .
Everything has been gone through on this jeep and everything has been sand blasted, cleaned, repainted, or replaced with new, NOS, or repro parts.
Chassis and Drive Train: four new leaf spring, new shackles, new shocks, new axle bumpers, frame stripped/blasted and painted, new front bumper, new u-joints, new clutch and bearing, new seals and bearings on rebuilt tranny and transfer case. Allwere drained and cleaned repainted, and all fluids and gaskets replaced, new e-brake pads, hardware, and cable, new engine/tranny mounts, new brakes including all lines and hoses, new master cylinder, four new wheel cylinders. New steering wheel, new rear bumperettes, authentic pintle hook. Fourvintage Goodyear 7.00×16 NDCC tires (they are older but in great shape)on blasted and painted 16” original rims. The spare is a NOS Firestone 7.00x16NDCC. All of the tires have slight cracking due to their age but look and run great.
Body: BensingerMD JuanM38 body;windshield includes newglass with new seal, reproduction hood and tailgate, repro.front andrear seat frames, original fuel tank clenaed and professionally sealed on inside, repro. top bows, brackets and hardware, brandnew canvas top and seat covers (All canvas is Beachwood canvas), shovel and axe, original correct dated gas can, repro. water bucket, rebuilt authentic blackout lights, new headlights and rebuilt tail-lights, repro.data plates.
Misc: Vehicle is wired for 12V civilian use, all new gauges, including speedometer, all lights, all new switches work properly except for old style light switch and no trailer plug. Original water fording system was not installed. Has proper vacuum windshield wipers installed and working.
Vehicle includes pioneer tools and water bucket.Mileage is not accurate, but regardless of odometer (00000)reading this Jeep is better than motor pool, almost like it just came off the assembly line.
The only thing left to do with this vehicle is have fun driving it and possibly outfit it with some Korean War Era paraphernalia.
Vehicle is sold as is where is. No sales outside of USA. Shipping costs are responsibility of buyer. Will work with buyer to arrange shipping (i.e drive it to local shipper or Port Newark.)
Deposit via Paypal, balance in cash or Paypal upon pick up or prior to shipping. No checks, no trades, no scams.
The "Buy It Now" price is realistic price, the reserve price is very close to that. This Jeep will sell as have all my previous restorations, don't let it slip away. A true M38 - a very rare jeep.
There is not title, bill of sale will be provided.
