Penned by famed designer, Brook Stevens (Miller Brewing logo, Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide, Oscar Meyer Weinermobile, etc.), and introduced in 1946, the Willys-Overland ‘Jeep’ Station Wagon was an instant success in a buoyant post-war environment that was ripe for such stylish, multi-talented machine treading on the reputation Jeep built in War time.

This Wagon, a 1949 model, is presented in fabulous Tunisian Red with matching burgundy interior. The body-on restoration is done to a very nice standard with all new paint, new upholstery, re-finished wooden floor slats, new headliner, refurbished original steering wheel, correct style bias ply tires, new chrome, and much more. Turn signals were added in the restoration along with SW auxiliary oil pressure and water temp gauges.

The work appears to have been completed c.1999-2000. In the spring of 2001, it was acquired by the Sunbelt Auto Museumin Las Vegas, NV, where it stayed until 2015. As the car had been predominantly static for a decade and a half, we completed a full inspection and attended to many recommended items including new fuel tank, carburetor rebuild, rebuilt steering box, brake system rebuild, new wheel cylinders, battery, and more. The invoice for $4,040 is included with purchase along with recent history for the car.
