1967 Volvo 220

This is a rust free California car with very low mileage. A Vehicle Information Report from Volvo's Historical Archives show the car was purchased new in Germany in April, 1967. There is a 1994 California Quaker State oil service sticker as seen on the edge of the driver's door showing mileage of 30,498. The left rear bumper has a City of San Francisco Parking Permit dated 1995. This gem was found stored in Maryland in 2006 and later transported to Upstate New York when purchased by the current owner in 2010 for restoration. This 1967 122S Wagon has a B18 motor, dual SU carburetors and mated to a 4 speed M41J overdrive tranny from a 1973 Volvo 1800ES. The drive shaft was balanced and new U-joints were added. A 123GT type OD switch was installed along with the correct indicator lamp mounted in the dash. The original dealer installed Frigiking AC was refurbished and upgraded for use with R134 refrigerant with new hoses, dryer and Sanden type condenser mounted on a Foltz bracket. A blower fan was added for additional efficiency. A recent re-spray was done in it's original 96 Volvo color code including installation of a new windshield gasket. Handling has been greatly enhanced with the addition of a front IPD sway bar, Bilstein shocks, new springs and poly bushings. Other features include a correct accessory powder coated roof rack with ash wood slats finished in marine varnish, 4-way Yankee Hazard switch, rubber floor liner, rare 123GT chrome seat recliners, low profile third brake light, a Collector Car Hidden Digital Music Min-Amp System with under dash 4 ohm S&M Electro-Tech speakers in period cases allow for keeping the original in dash "VOLVO" radio delete plate. A very rare matching factory under dash knee pad has been added as per Volvo's AC Installation manual. This wagon also sports a pair of relay wired 7" Marchal fog lamps mounted on the front bumper with 123GT brackets and correct under bumper supports. The red interior is in very nice condition as well as the headliner and sun visors. The electrical system has been upgraded to an alternator and Petronix electronic ignition was installed. A SWEM kit push button starter switch has been mounted under the dash to eliminate the common vintage Volvo ignition key issues. The original gas cap was restored and attached with correct chain. With 3 other Volvo classics in the stable this wagon has occasional summer use for cruise-ins and local car shows. Spare tire, factory tool kit, owners manual w/wagon supplement. The car is currently registered with NYS Inspection. This car runs very quiet and can be driven anywhere. Please call or text Ron at 716-474-5507.
