1984 Volvo 240DL wagon. 2.3L B23F engine, 4 speed AW70 auto transmission. Power steering, air conditioning, factory AM/FM cassette.

The odometer shows approximately 140,800 miles, but it was broken for a time so the actual mileage is unknown, although the car appears to have close to the mileage showing. This car was extensively refurbished about 6 years ago, including new paint, a major service, motor mounts, brakes, muffler, catalytic converter, fuel pumps, timing belt, etc. The car was then sold to the present owner, for whom I am selling the car. During that time the car has been driven about 30,000 relatively trouble free miles. The brake master cylinder, battery, tires, driver’s door handle and a few other minor repairs have been made along the way, as well as having all the regular maintenance items performed. Due to an upcoming move, she has asked me to sell the vehicle for her.

The good: This is a fairly nice, reliable, and well cared for car. It’s very presentable, has no rust issues or rust repairs, ever. Mechanically it’s in very good condition. The A/C blows cold air. The tires are fairly new. All the maintenance has been done. The windows are tinted. It’s not been smoked in. The headliner, etc is in good shape. The title is clean & ready to go.

The not-so-good: The dash is cracked, but there is a carpet cover on it. The seats could do with reupholstering. They were recovered in cloth some time ago and now the cloth is tearing. The fronts are covered with sheepskin covers that are in good shape but the rear seat shows wear. The door pocket on the driver’s door is cracked, which is common for this model. The rear brakes squeak-very common on Volvos. The rear wiper doesn’t work. The car had the third seat at one time. The seatbelts and catch are there but the seat itself is missing.

Overall, it’s a nice driver car that shows well from 10 feet. It’s not perfect cosmetically, but it can be driven and enjoyed right away. The winning bidder must pay a $500 non refundable deposit via PayPal within 3 days of auction close. The balance must be paid prior to pickup and the cashier’s check or money order must clear my bank before I will release the car. If the car is to be shipped, the truck can pick it up here and I will meet the driver, etc.
