Description:

1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Custom

Great 90% Project car! This is NOT your AVERAGE Bug!
I have about $14K invested but I've never been able to finish it. It's not running but should if connected up to fuel and battery. I put the engine back together a couple years ago after replacing a main bearing. It was a new rebuild 1600 with maybe 100 miles on it when the fuel pump leaked in to the oil and locked it up. The 1600 has ratio rockers and a new EMPI 2bbl carb. Also has ceramic coated header with ceramic muffler. (Stinger comes with it)
THERE'S MORE! I purchased a 2110 stroker with dual Webber 44 IDFs which need rebuilt and another set of Delortos, el stacks, inkage, tc. Again, I've had some bad luck) with less than 200 miles on it, had a problem with the external oil pump flange and blew out the oil, ocking up the engine. Over time sitting outside, ater got into the passenger side carb and down into the engine causing further damage. I tore down the heads to see the extent of the damage, wo jugs need replaced. In perfect condition however, acking ether engine is a custom built Rancho transmission with a short throw shifter. I had this tranny built with close ratio first and second and tall 3-4th gears to run 80mph all day, nd it did. You won't believe how smooth and responsive this car drives. With the 2110 running, 've outrun Mustang 5.0s.
Money was tight at that time and I was unable to continue working on the motors then a year and a half ago I was in an auto accident (not in the bug) that broke my neck and tore up both shoulders. I'm just getting back to normal but now I need to relocate for work and the car needs to go. This is an awesome project car! Breaks my heart to sell.
Car was custom painted over 10 years ago but is now showing some surface rust in very small areas over doors and in front of doors (typical locations) Missing rear deck lid.
