Price: - Item location: Argyle, Texas, United States
Description:

1976 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Thisis for the Bus AND the entire inventory of restoration parts!Bought over $3600 in resto parts then lost most my sight. I can't finish it.
In person inspection and visits welcome!

Original engine - FI 2.0 Liter. Currently cranking slowly and not firing. Mileage: 78673
Owned and driven for about 10 years.
Had all vacuum lines replaced 2 years ago. Oil change, valves, ECM cleaned, coil replaced, dizzy and rotor cleaned and contacts sanded. Cranks slowly, won't fire. I suspect big red wire to the starter. I have also done research into dropping a Subaru engine in. Looks quite easy and they are plentiful!
Bus is currently a "Day Camper", great for trips down fast winding roads to a lake or camp. It's the Westfalia package with the sink and closet units removed, with a new side-table where the closet was. The swing-out table remains. This has also proved to be very useful for running around with parts and stuff. The center of the bus is a huge open space with a very low entry, great for big and heavy stuff.

Genuine SMITHS tachometer in the usually blank right hole. Style matches perfectly, looks stock, lights up, is AWESOME.
Retro-looking radio is modern Bluetooth capable unit. There is one working speaker, on the floor, for testing.
New glovebox.
Lights work.
Recently attacked by small savage ATV on left rear corner. Included in the kit is an older replacement lens.
Lowered by PO about 1 inch, no interference noted.
Very effective rear sway bar added. Transformed the way I thought a bus could handle. Totally failed to flip.
Former owner patched a vent hole in center of roof with steel panel and bondo on top. Must be refinished.
Restoration parts included: exterior metal, interior, carpet, front window trim, door, hatch, slider, and all parts in my collection. The parts are $3562.99 in value, not including multiple shippings over the years.
