1964 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Deluxe

This 1964 Volkswagen Hardtop Walk-through Deluxe is a classic that is sure to turn heads. Everywhere you go, people will gather and you'll make instant friends. What's unique about this bus is that it was built in September of 1963 with the walk-through option so it has all the '63 and earlier parts and features with the newer '64 and later rear hatch.
With a stunning, factory exterior color combination of Sealing Wax Red and Beige Grey and a spacious interior in the original factory colors of Silver Grey upholstery, this bus is perfect for any collector who wants to drive and enjoy. Take it to the local grocery store or your favorite Cars & Coffee. It has 9 seats and 5 doors, making it easy to get in and out of, and it runs on a strong 1600cc engine with German Solex carburetor and German fuel pump. Exhaust is new from Wolfsburg West. It has a clean California title and many receipts. One factory key fits the front doors and ignition switch and the other factory key fits the back full hatch.
This original Hardtop Deluxe is easy and fun to drive. The Deluxe trim adds extra style and is original to the bus as are most of the small parts. What's also unique about this bus is it has zero rust issues and you can still see the factory paint underneath. This bus sat in storage for over 20 years and it took myself and Tony Ochoa about 6 months to sort out to what you see today. I wanted to accentuate its character above all so we put a few coats of it's original color combination of Sealing Wax Red and Beige Grey using Glasurit paint, original to factory.
Keeping the original character of the bus inside we then had one of the best VW interior guys around, Jesus, complete the entire factory style interior, leaving the dash original. I then, with my mom created the curtains as an added touch using a very unique fabric direct from Thailand which fits the entire color scheme well. It now has a that restored/patina look that is not only stunning but just right enough to keep that warm, original feeling that people respond to.
Last summer I attended the Huntington Beach Pier VW Bus show that features only aircooled buses and is the only time the pier allows any vehicles on the pier. It also attended the VW I.D. unveiling of the new microbus in Huntington Beach as well as various cars and coffee shows including recently at Finish Line featuring Microbuses in Costa Mesa, CA. This bus is a California bus with it's original black plates, a bonus!
Don't miss your chance to own this fabulous piece of German history. Good luck bidding!
