Recent Import from Mexico City Has never seen snow!
1974 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic
Imported from Mexico City, Mexico (includes original invoice from 1974 as shown in the pictures). This Beetle has never seen snow (the last reported snow in Mexico City was 1967)
The Hagerty look up of VIN (shown above) gives their valuation. This car in by no means concourse, nor would I say it is excellent condition, but is definitely better than good. The floors pans have been replaced at recently. The battery, heater tubes from the fan shroud to the heat exchangers are new. It was painted Blue (obviously) from the original white. The paint job was done very well. There is no over-spray that I could find. The fact the interior is also all blue suggests that this was a stripped down repaint.
There is an aftermarket radio under the dash that I did not photograph. Since the amp and other components had been removed, I do not know if it works.
The car pulls very well, and the engine makes no unusual noises. I have a video of the car driving around the parking lot, taken the same day as the pictures but I cannot post it here. The engine was replaced in 2020 with a 1991 engine (Yes, Beetles were still made in Mexico in 1991); the original 1991 invoice for the donor car is included in the sale.
